Starting over doesn’t mean starting from nothing. Juan Carlos and his wife, Karla, built a successful luxury hat business in Guatemala before threats of extortion and persecution forced them to leave everything behind. After resettling in the United States, they decided to rebuild what they had created, and relaunched their business, Numa Hats, in the Atlanta area. Through Thrive Community Lending, Juan Carlos and Karla received the capital they needed to build inventory and strengthen their marketing and sales, along with guidance from a volunteer business coach. They brought the vision. Thrive helped provide the opportunity. Now, they’re building again. ❤️ This is what empowerment looks like: helping entrepreneurs turn experience, resilience, and a dream into a new opportunity to thrive. Ukrainian families deserve safety, stability, and the chance to keep building their lives. 🇺🇦❤️ Temporary Protected Status (TPS) for Ukrainians is set to expire on October 19, 2026. Without action, thousands of Ukrainians living and working in the United States could lose their legal protections and work authorization while the war in Ukraine continues. At Inspiritus, we serve Ukrainian families who fled the war and are building peaceful, productive lives in our communities. Returning to an active war zone is not a safe option. Now is the time to act. Inspiritus is calling on Congress to protect Ukrainians by extending and redesignating TPS. Learn more and take action through our partner, @GlobalRefuge, using the link below. 🔗 https://brnw.ch/21x6ngR #Inspiritus #GlobalRefuge #Ukraine #TPS #RefugeeSupport #FromSurvivingToThriving

What comes next matters. ❤️ For youth with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities, the transition from foster care to adulthood can require coordinated, personalized support. That’s why Inspiritus is proud to launch BRIDGE, a specialized program for youth ages 14–22 who are eligible or pre-eligible for the Medicaid COMP waiver. Through dual case management, registered nurse support, and strong partnerships across foster care and disability services, BRIDGE helps young people navigate the path toward long-term care, independence, and forever homes. We’re bridging the gap for youth in need. To learn more, contact fosterchild@weinspirit.org.

Behind every story of thriving is a community of people who chose to show up. At Inspiritus, volunteers do more than give their time. They build relationships, share skills, offer encouragement, and walk alongside people as they rebuild their lives. Maybe you have an hour to tutor. Maybe you can help a family navigate a new community. Maybe you’re ready to commit to becoming a mentor. There’s a place for you here. Join us as a volunteer and help someone move from surviving to thriving. ❤️ Find an opportunity that fits you.

When Herithier arrived in Birmingham from the Democratic Republic of Congo, he was still finding his footing. He didn’t speak English, had no formal education, and didn’t have a clear picture of what his future could look like. Then, through Inspiritus’ Youth Mentoring program, a new door opened. With support from his case manager, Herithier connected with Job Corps, where he discovered a passion and a gift for mathematics. He worked hard, earned his high school diploma and forklift certification, and was named Student of the Year . Today, he’s working, focused on supporting his family, and dreaming even bigger. His goal? To pursue higher education and become an engineer. “I know that I’m really good at math. I’ve changed my story.” And he has. One milestone at a time. ❤️

People are more than the circumstances they’re facing. Inspiritus means “to fill with courage.” And that’s at the heart of who we are: believing every person deserves to be seen for who they are, supported through where they’ve been, and empowered to build what comes next. That’s why we walk alongside people, not just through a difficult moment, but toward stability, connection, independence, and hope. Because the goal isn’t simply to survive. It’s to thrive. ❤️ Join us in creating communities where people have the support and opportunity to do just that. #Inspiritus #FromSurvivingToThriving #HopeInAction #Community
