As demand for American-made drones grows, strengthening domestic manufacturing capacity and supply chain resilience is critical to meeting the needs of the U.S. military. In a new feature from Manufacturing Engineering & Technology (MET), Red Cat COO Chris Ericson discusses the challenges facing the U.S. drone industrial base, including limited domestic component availability, single-source dependencies, and the need for greater investment in manufacturing infrastructure. Ericson also highlights Red Cat's approach to building more resilient supply chains and scaling production to deliver reliable, mission-ready systems to the warfighter. This week, #Hellcat earned a 4-Star Award in the Autonomous Systems category of the Military Embedded Systems Best in Show Awards at AUSA 2026. Hellcat is built on the Black Widow™ platform, which the U.S. Army selected for Short Range Reconnaissance. We designed it around what operators told us they need: GPS-denied operation from power-on, recovery without GPS, and command-and-control and payload configurations that match the mission instead of forcing the mission to fit the aircraft. Warfighter feedback from the field shaped it, and so did lessons from our ongoing partnership with Ukraine. Military Embedded Systems also stopped by Booth 353 to film our small UAS platforms and swarm technology for Army operations. Watch the walkthrough: https://lnkd.in/gEzg86Hq Thank you to Military Embedded Systems and to everyone who stopped by Booth 353 to see Hellcat, TRICHON™, Black Widow, FANG™, and Edge 130 up close. One brand. One team. Proven platforms, built in America. That’s a strong way to close our first week as Red Cat Aerial. #AUSA2026 #RedCatAerial #Hellcat #sUAS #AutonomousSystems #DefenseInnovation #MadeInAmerica Mitch McDonald Chris Ericson

Made in America means more than final assembly. It means securing the supply chain behind the technology. Red Cat CEO Jeff Thompson joined Yahoo Finance Live today to discuss the new tariffs on foreign drones and the importance of building a strong domestic drone industrial base. Red Cat builds American-made drones with a supply chain that is not dependent on China, giving our customers access to critical unmanned technology built here at home. Defense procurement is moving away from large, closed, platform-centric programs and toward modular systems that operators can field, fix, and adapt at the speed of the mission. That shift was the focus on set today at our West Palm Beach facility, where the Now We Know! with Steve Guttenberg team filmed a new segment with Barry Hinckley, President of Blue Ops - A Red Cat Company, and Mitch McDonald, President of Unmanned Aircraft Systems at Red Cat. The conversation covered open architecture, field repairability, GPS-denied operations, and how connecting air and maritime systems is defining the future of domain dominance. Then we put it on display, demonstrating our systems live for the crew. Thanks to the Now We Know team for coming out and featuring Red Cat. More to come when the segment airs.
