In support of the Space Force Portfolio Acquisition Executive for Missile Warning and Tracking, SDA posted a request for information to inform future solicitations and reduce risk associated with the Proliferated Warfighter Space Architecture (#PWSA) architecture acquisition and integration plans. This RFI seeks industry feedback on enhancements to its baseline Tracking Layer’s resilient MWTD mission payloads and architecture, as well as new mission capabilities that can help the PWSA provide enhanced mission performance to detect and track more challenging targets across their full flight trajectories. Responses to this RFI will specifically inform SDA’s scope and design of possible short-term on-orbit demonstration(s) and future Tracking Layer tranches. UPDATED DUE DATE!! SDA recently issued a sources sought announcement seeking potential sources that can provide Performance Enhanced Real-time Ground Environment (PEREGRINE) Sentry capabilities. PEREGRINE Sentry will support the SDA resilient missile warning tracking (#RMWT) low Earth orbit (LEO) operational mission within the Proliferated Warfighter Space Architecture (#PWSA) ground segment. The government intends to evolve the current PWSA ground segment into a loosely-coupled Modular Open Systems Architecture (MOSA)-compliant ground segment framework (GSF) and a secure, multi-tenant common development environment (CDE). The potential contractor will serve as the lead platform integrator responsible for ingesting new and existing third-party application developer (3PAD) capabilities, working with ground segment contractors, and managing the software ecosystem framework lifecycle on the GSF. #ICYMI- In the wee hours of Saturday morning, the United States Space Force (#USSF) Portfolio Acquisition Executive (PAE) for Missile Warning and Tracking (#MWT), supported by the Space Development Agency (SDA), successfully delivered to orbit the fourth plane of Tranche 1 (T1) Transport satellites, launched from Space Launch Complex (SLC) 4 East at Vandenberg Space Force Base, California, adding capacity to the USSF’s resilient, proliferated low Earth orbit architecture. With the support of Space Systems Command, a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket delivered 21 data transport T1 space vehicles (SVs), built by Northrop Grumman for SDA, bringing the total number of T1 SVs on orbit to 84. These T1 SVs will provide secure, low-latency, beyond-line-of-sight (BLOS) resilient, survivable data transport capabilities in support of tracking advanced missile threats. Tranche 1 will provide initial warfighting capability beginning in 2027. This includes persistent regional tactical data links, enhanced missile tracking/warning, beyond-line-of-sight targeting, and user connectivity enabled by both tactical optical and Ka-Band links– aligned to combatant command warfighting priorities. Early this morning, the United States Space Force (#USSF) Portfolio Acquisition Executive for Missile Warning and Tracking (#MWT), supported by the Space Development Agency, successfully launched 21 satellites in low-Earth orbit from Vandenberg Space Force Base, California. Tranche 1’s fourth launch deployed 21 data transport space vehicles (SVs) built by Northrop Grumman, bringing the total number of Tranche 1 SVs on orbit to 84. The launch, on a SpaceX Falcon 9 reusable, two-stage rocket, is the fourth installment of 10 planned Tranche 1 launches. Once populated, Tranche 1 will form the initial warfighting capability of the Proliferated Warfighter Space Architecture (#PWSA) and deliver regional persistence for Link 16, advanced missile tracking and missile warning, and beyond-line-of-sight (BLOS) targeting plus demonstration of UHF and S-band tactical satellite communications.
