In May, we gave strength a full overhaul on Strava: a workout log, auto-populated muscle maps, and 14 partner integrations. Now we’re taking the next step, from tracking strength to training it. New coach-designed strength workouts bring guided instruction, form tips, and live set-and-rep tracking. Every set and rep saves to the Workout Log, and the muscle map shows where the effort went. Rolling out to subscribers over the coming weeks, with a sample workout for free users. Strength is one of the fastest-growing activity types on Strava, with more than 500 million uploads in 2025. We’ll keep evolving the experience: more workout series are on the way, and new partner integrations will keep rolling out so strength data flows in from wherever athletes train. #Strava #StrengthTraining

Last week at Strava HQ in San Francisco, we joined For All Mothers+ and leaders across the sports industry to launch the Mother in Sport Collective (MISC), a new industry alliance focused on building lasting support for mothers in sport. As Alysia Montaño put it: “We have an opportunity to architect the future together.” Proud to host a room full of athletes, advocates and brands committed to doing just that. We're proud to be a founding member of the Mother in Sport Collective, launched today by For All Mothers+ alongside Brooks Running, lululemon, HOKA, Clif Bar, and other sports brands. Sport hasn't consistently been built with maternal support in mind. MISC brings brands, researchers, and community voices together to change that, starting with a shared Pledge signed today at Strava HQ. We're glad to help build the infrastructure that lets mothers participate, compete, lead, and thrive in sport at every level. #strava #forallmothers

On September 17,For All Mothers+ is proud to be launching the Mother in Sport Collective (MISC) at Strava HQ in San Francisco—a new industry alliance bringing together athlete-mothers, sports brands, researchers, media, and community voices to address the structural barriers mothers experience in sport. At the center of the launch will be a public MISC Pledge signing, where representatives from our Founding Member brands will publicly commit to advancing maternal equity within their organizations and across the sports industry. Why does this matter? Because too often, mothers are still expected to navigate systems that were never designed with them in mind. Athlete-care standards, events, workplaces, and sport environments do not consistently account for pregnancy, postpartum recovery, lactation, childcare, or the realities of parenting. And while many organizations are working to improve maternal support, too often those efforts happen independently—with limited shared standards, research, or opportunities to learn from one another. MISC is designed to change that. We envision MISC as a think tank, alliance, narrative-shift vehicle, and network for organizations committed to advancing maternal equity. This is bigger than a pledge. It’s about building the infrastructure that allows mothers to participate, compete, lead, and thrive in sport—at every level. And it’s about moving from individual exceptions to systemic change. We are incredibly proud of the brands committed to catalyzing change with For All Mothers+. We’re just getting started.  Strava, Brooks Running, lululemon, HOKA, Clif Bar, Hettas, Brodo Broth Company, Altra Running, rabbit, Oiselle and GU Energy Labs

Team Strava showed up in San Francisco 🧡 56 Strava employees took on the 3.5-mile JPMorganChase Corporate Challenge, joining nearly 6,000 finishers from companies across the Bay Area. Our team finished with an average time of 30:52, ranking 39th out of 285 companies. The Corporate Challenge brings colleagues of all experience levels together outside the workplace, whether that means chasing a PR, jogging with teammates or walking the full 3.5 miles. Congrats to all the participants out there. #JPMCC #Strava

What can movement data tell us about how to build better places to walk and bike? Applications are now open for the third year of the Strava Metro for Academic Researchers Program, giving college and university students and academic researchers access to aggregated, de-identified Strava data to study biking and pedestrian infrastructure in communities around the world. Since launching in 2024, the program has paired Strava Metro insights with local research and expertise to support work across North America, the UK, Europe and Asia-Pacific. Selected researchers receive one year of access to the Strava Metro platform, opportunities to collaborate across disciplines, and support from the Strava Metro team. Applications are open through October 23 at 5 p.m. PT. Learn more: https://lnkd.in/gUEBcd5s

A 900-mile solo swim down the California coast, logged mile by mile on Strava. Catherine Breed is one of the only people known to attempt this route, including stops with ocean conservation groups along the way. It's a small window into something bigger: athletes pushing into genuinely uncharted territory, and choosing Strava as the place to document it. We are excited to follow along!

Last week I had the chance to meet Catherine Breed, the intrepid ultra marathon swimmer who is swimming 900 (!) miles from the Oregon border to Mexico. Catherine is almost halfway down the California coastline, dutifully logging her swims on Strava. She is the first person known to attempt this swim, and when asked why she's doing it at all, she said "because it's there to do, [...] and because it's a privilege to see how tough you really are." Catherine is also stopping along the coast to hold community events with local ocean conservation groups like the Greater Farallones Association, Cordell Bank National Marine Sanctuary, and The Marine Mammal Center. Even as someone who regularly swims in the SF Bay, this feat blows my mind. Strava means "strive" in Swedish, and I can't think of anyone who better embodies that spirit! Great engineering teams aren't built by chance, they're grown, one relationship at a time. Recently, our Talent team hosted Talent Unscripted, a career and networking evening for software engineers and data professionals. The evening featured a panel with our engineering and data leaders on career growth, AI, and life building at Strava, followed by open networking with the team. It's part of how we compete for the talent that builds the platform, giving experienced candidates a direct, honest look at our team and how we work before they ever apply. Strong turnout and great conversations throughout the night.

Our own Evelina Jarbin talked partnerships, community, and real-world connection with Melissa Cohen for her "Brands Out Loud" series. A few good gems in here on how we think about success beyond app time.

I speak a lot about the importance of human connection, building community, and spending more time in the real world than the digital one. Recent news that caught my attention by doing both is the collaboration between Strava and adidas. A new integration released mid-July allows users in the US and Canada to link their adiClub and Strava accounts, allowing eligible activities (runs, walks, hikes, bike rides) on Strava to be turned into rewards points. The launch also includes a new series of adidas Challenges on Strava. I was delighted to get further insights from Evelina Jarbin, Sr. Director of Strava for Business. Three gems that stood out for me: 1. "Our success isn't measured by time spent in the Strava app, it's measured by time spent moving. The app exists to motivate and celebrate activity, but the real value is what happens in the real world. If Strava inspires someone to get outside for a run, ride or walk, we've done our job!" 2. "Community and real-world connection have always been at the heart of Strava. We know movement has a unique ability to bring people together, whether that's through Kudos, shared goals, local clubs, or simply encouraging each other to get outside. It's less about combating loneliness directly and more about creating meaningful ways for people to connect through movement.   That's reflected throughout this partnership. The community Challenges give people another reason to get outside together, while the adidas Club on Strava creates a space for members to connect, find inspiration and engage with the brand beyond a single campaign." 3. "We're seeing clear signals that consumers are looking for experiences that add value to their lives, not just more things to buy. In fact, Strava’s 2025 Year in Sport report found that over 50% of Gen Z plans to use Strava more, while most say they’ll use Instagram and TikTok the same amount or less, reflecting a growing appetite for spaces centered on movement, community and real-world connection." And no, this is not a sponsored or paid post. I am genuinely delighted to see this partnership with an emphasis on connection, community, and physical activity. I believe there is a very important lesson here for the future of brand campaigns and a whole new way to measure what success looks like for a campaign or product launch. More of this in the future!

Every day, people log something on Strava. Some entries stop us in our tracks. Spotted lately: a Grand Tour stage win four years after a broken pelvis. A repeat champion at one of endurance sport's toughest 200-mile races. The youngest rider ever to break a 4,000km bikepacking record. A skater chasing a world record at 5,799m in the Himalayas. And 300 runners who turned a 5:30am run into one of Paris's best parties. Pros. Everyday athletes. Same feed. Swipe through what we found 👀

25 mothers with big dreams. 25 mothers now getting the support to help make them possible. Childcare remains one of the biggest obstacles keeping mothers from returning to sport. Grants like these, in partnership with Strava, and support from On, GU Energy Labs, and Runna, help remove that barrier. Narrowing down the selection is never easy, but it's a reminder that this work is about changing the systems and policies that shape motherhood in sport. Here's to more mothers getting to the start line. You can learn more about the For All Mothers+ Childcare Grants at the link in comments.
