The bottom line, poor inventory planning can do more than just ruin your peak season. Stockouts mean lost sales you can't get back. Overstock means storage fees and markdowns that hit after the holidays. AI demand forecasting helps brands see what's coming for each SKU and each sales channel, including demand driven by their own promotions, so they can act before peak season starts. Deciding between Just-in-Time inventory (JIT) vs Just-in-Case (JIC) when it comes to choosing your inventory strategy? Here's a quick breakdown: ⌛ JIT allows retailers to receive the exact amount of inventory they need, right when they need it. Brands utilizing JIT will aim for little to no excess inventory, which can result in cost-efficient production, waste elimination, efficient storage space use and the ability to change over inventory more quickly. 🛒 JIC aims to prevent stockouts and ensure that products are in stock despite supplier delays or unexpected increases in demand. It can also be used to avoid increases in the cost of a material or component, which would lead to having to raise prices. Spring is still in full swing but the time to plan for peak season is approaching... Black Friday online spending hit $11.8 billion in 2025, up 9.1% year over year. Cyber Monday reached $14.25 billion. Peak season has transformed into a months-long push of promos, loyalty drops, and social commerce spikes that starts in October and doesn't fully fizzle out until January returns. For apparel brands, this time of year can be even more complex: thousands of active SKUs, high return rates that spike further during the holidays, and a customer base that consistently expects sub-two-day delivery, no matter the time of year. Check out our guide to nailing peak season ➡️ https://bit.ly/4twZ07t

Customers crave variety when it comes to apparel, and successful brands know that an effective inventory management strategy is key to reduce carrying costs and minimize stockouts while keeping customers happy. Thriving brands know that there are three non-negotiable elements to consider: 👚 SKU-level tracking and classification: Apparel requires granular inventory tracking that goes beyond simple product counts. 👀 Real-time inventory visibility across channels: Minimize the risk of overselling popular items or missing restock opportunities with oversight across D2C websites, physical stores and marketplaces like Amazon. 🛍️ Lot and batch tracking for limited collections: This capability helps brands identify which production batches are selling fastest and prevents mixing seasonal inventory that should be liquidated with core products that can carry over. It’s easy to claim to have a shared technology foundation. But what does that actually look like? One proprietary OMS, WMS, and TMS processing 80+ million orders a year across DTC, B2B, wholesale, and marketplace channels. Hundreds of native integrations across the tools brands already run: Shopify, WooCommerce, Amazon, Loop, Two Boxes, and more. Every business unit draws from the same connected system. A capability build for one team (like AI-driven forecasting or automated compliance workflows) doesn’t stay siloed. It strengthens every solution that’s built on top of it.
