Where the money actually landed last week: Voyager Technologies — new Space Systems Command contract for satellite-to-satellite crosslinks across LEO, MEO and GEO. Value undisclosed. Impulse Space — $308M added to their Series D, round total past $800M, valuation now $5.4B. Founded by SpaceX's first employee. Vantor — selected EnduroSat to build the buses for a 24-satellite Earth-observation constellation, 40cm resolution, payloads from CACI International Inc. Slingshot Aerospace — $27M Space Force contract to build AI-driven training environments for space warfare operators. NASA - National Aeronautics and Space Administration — picked a launch provider for StarBurst, a gamma-ray detector mission. Provider and vehicle still under wraps. The one I'd least want to staff is StarBurst. No team named, no scope released "gamma-ray detector mission" could mean instrument physicists or spacecraft bus engineers, and until NASA says more, you can't write a sourcing brief that means anything. Four deals, four completely different disciplines, and not one of them needs the same recruiter twice. Which of these would you like to be apart of?

standardize visibility, preserve flexibility... ... as when NASA - National Aeronautics and Space Administration created a $1.4 billion enterprise logistics arrangement with 16 companies. The interesting part is not simply the size or number of suppliers. NASA says the new agreements will standardize requirements, improve reporting and streamline management of costs and resources. At the same time, the agency can choose among fixed-price, time-and-materials, labor-hour and hybrid contract types. That combination is useful: Standardization can make information easier to compare across work, suppliers and locations. Better reporting supplies leaders with visibility into cost, capacity and performance. But standardization does not have to mean every job is bought the same way. Different work carries different uncertainty. A fixed price may fit one requirement while another needs a different bargain because the effort is harder to define in advance. The operating design therefore standardizes the information and interface while preserving flexibility in how work is contracted. That is a valuable principle well beyond logistics: Standardize what improves visibility. Keep flexibility where uncertainty actually differs. #FederalAcquisition #NASA #Procurement https://lnkd.in/gheDGK_R

Space will not be shaped by those who simply imagine what is possible, but by those who build the systems that make it possible. At Vanthion Aerospace, our ambition extends beyond a single spacecraft. We are working towards a future of indigenous satellite systems, onboard intelligence, and greater autonomy in orbit. Our CubeSat initiative represents the beginning of that vision a long term commitment to engineering the technologies, infrastructure, and capabilities required for the next generation of space systems. The work begins on the ground. The ambition reaches far beyond it. Before two infrastructure work packages meet on site, check the interface between them. Three practical checks drawn from NASA’s interface management guidance: 1. Define the boundary. Record where systems connect and what each side must provide, including physical, functional and performance requirements. 2. Name the owners. Identify the responsible people on each side and agree how interface decisions and changes will be handled. 3. Check compatibility. Review integration procedures against the agreed interface documents, then verify that the connection meets its requirements. Takeaway: bring both sides of each connection into the review early, and keep the agreed interface information current as the design develops. 57 years ago, a boot pressed into lunar dust and changed what we thought was possible. Day one of Payload Off World here in Houston was a reminder that the next set of footprints is closer than a lot of people think. It was great to connect with and hear from so many companies doing the hard work to get the USA back on the Moon: landers, rovers, habitats, logistics, power, and the infrastructure to support a enduring presence. The highlight was hearing NASA - National Aeronautics and Space Administration Administrator Jared Isaacman lay out how NASA plans to support the off world economy while continuing to push human understanding forward. #OffWorld2026 #SpaceEconomy #Artemis #Manufacturing #Aerospace
