Worth Slowing Down For #2 Inside the making of 9th Avenue Last time we talked about the brick. Now, look at the glass. 9th Avenue is wrapped in it. Floor-to-ceiling, light pouring in from every side. But all that glass raises an obvious question in a city like Islamabad: how do you keep a building like this cool and comfortable? Part of the answer is in a detail you would never notice by looking. It is low-e glass. Low-e, short for low-emissivity, is glass with an almost invisible coating that reflects heat while letting light through. So in summer, it turns away the sun's heat before it can build up inside. In winter, it holds the warmth in. All without tinting the space dark or trading away the daylight that makes it feel open. It is the same goal as the brick, approached from the other direction. One holds comfort through mass, the other through light. Together they keep 9th Avenue bright, comfortable, and more energy efficient. #RoomForMore
