Privacy just got less painful. Opera is introducing an opt-in mode so its free VPN automatically activates on public or unsecured Wi-Fi in the US and France. No need to remember to toggle protection—Opera handles it for you while you browse, work, or manage finances. This change matters: public Wi-Fi is a top target for snooping and data leakage, yet most users still don’t use VPNs regularly. Opera’s move helps bridge that gap, offering GDPR-compliant protection that’s independently audited and built-into the browser. What to watch: whether this auto-VPN rolls out globally, how users respond, and if competitors follow suit by making privacy seamless by default. #Privacy #Opera #VPN #Security #PublicWiFi #Browser https://lnkd.in/dRWRT_AW

Opera and Cisco are expanding their partnership. Opera XE now runs directly on Cisco’s industrial switches, from Cisco Catalyst 9000 Series to the Catalyst IE3500 Rugged Series. No new hardware. No disruption. Nothing to install in the field. For the teams keeping rail, energy, and water running, that means one thing: a clear view of the cyber risks that can actually stop operations, on the infrastructure they already own. Visibility tells you what exists. Opera shows what can disrupt operations. Built for the moment cyber becomes physical. Opera Security × Cisco. #CyberPhysical #OTSecurity #Cisco #CriticalInfrastructure #OperationalResilience

🚨 Big news in cybersecurity! A major breach has sent shockwaves through the industry, highlighting vulnerabilities we thought were patched up tight. As IT professionals, we know that just when we think we’ve mastered security, the landscape shifts beneath our feet. This incident is a stark reminder of: - The relentless evolution of cyber threats. - The importance of continuous education and adaptation in our practices. - The challenge of balancing innovation with security. Remember the chaos of the WannaCry attack in 2017? It forced organizations worldwide to rethink their cybersecurity strategies. Today’s breach could be a similar watershed moment. What’s next? I predict we’ll see an acceleration in the adoption of AI-driven security solutions. Companies will scramble not just to recover, but to reinforce their defenses with smarter systems that can preemptively identify threats. 🌐 Let’s not forget how the rise of remote work has increased our attack surface. As we embrace digital transformation, the need for robust cybersecurity measures is more critical than ever. In the face of these challenges, let’s unite as a community to share insights, best practices, and innovative solutions. Together, we can turn the tide against cyber threats. Stay vigilant, my fellow tech warriors! #Cybersecurity #Innovation #TechTrends #ainews #automatorsolutions #CyberSecurityAINews ----- Original Publish Date: 2013-06-27 08:37
