From Vision to Action: AI Leadership Forum Niall Norton was delighted to accept an invitation from Scale Ireland and Google Cloud to attend the AI Leadership Forum meeting on Tuesday this week, that was run ahead of Ireland’s International AI Summit as part of our EU Presidency. The event was excellent - with a real focus on how AI is moving into being practical and beneficial for enterprises and people in both a work and social context. The bottom line is that used properly, AI represents an enormous opportunity to boost productivity, drive innovation and strengthen Ireland (and Europe’s) competitiveness. Minister Niamh Smyth, Lorraine Twohill, Chief Marketing Officer at Google and Jenny Melia, CEO of Enterprise Ireland, were all predictably brilliant - and were marshaled very well by Vanessa Hartley, Head of Google Ireland. The message was balanced, and consistent - our focus must now be on turning that competiveness ambition into action and thereby into reality, while at the same time ensuring AI is developed and used responsibly. It was great to listen to Naoise Ó Cearúil TD, Chair of the Oireachtas Committee on AI, who was part of a great panel discussion, grounded the hype of AI into reality. This really was an impressive prelude to the International AI Summit. #InternationalAISummit #TechIreland #IrishTech #Google #VisionAction #Leadership

🔹Because some stories deserve a rollbact🔹 September was a month of growth, connections and a lot of impact. In Mexico, we reached a major milestone: 200 impactors! Growth built by people who share knowledge, experiences and, above all, the purpose of creating impact through technology. We also joined Amazon Web Services (AWS) Summit São Paulo and the Databricks Data + AI World Tour São Paulo, following discussions on how data and Artificial Intelligence are redefining the way businesses create, innovate and make decisions. Across the Atlantic, act digital France took part in the Technology Innovation Meeting alongside 1,600+ tech leaders, and we met with ]init[ - Services for the eSociety in Germany ahead of the TI-SUMMIT in Leipzig. Our leaders also gathered at our Leadership Meeting to reflect on the future we're building together. Microsoft, the company many businesses rent their AI from, has decided it does not want to rent the chips underneath it. On 12 October it unveiled the Maia 300, the third generation of its own AI chip, and said that from 2027 Maia becomes the main system running AI across its products, Copilot included. It plans deployments measured in gigawatts, which TNW reckons could mean more than a million chips that year. Earlier reports had Microsoft negotiating with TSMC for around 300,000, so I would treat the big number as an ambition for now. The detail I found most telling is what the chip is for. It is built for inference, the everyday work of answering questions once a model has been trained. Training a model is a large one-off bill, whereas inference is a meter that runs every time someone in your business presses enter. Microsoft says Maia 300 produces 40% more tokens per megawatt than the best GPU systems. Tokens are the chunks of text an AI model writes, so in plain terms, for the same electricity it expects 140 answers where a rival rack gives 100. It did not say which systems it measured against, so I would treat it as Microsoft's claim until someone tests it. Rani Borkar, who runs Azure hardware, told Reuters the aim is "more intelligence for every watt, every dollar, and every byte of memory". I tell the businesses I work with to plan for AI model costs going up. The biggest AI firms still spend far more than they earn, and that gap gets closed eventually, usually by customers. Microsoft is doing the same sum one layer down. It sells AI to a huge number of businesses, and it still will not leave its own running costs at the mercy of one supplier's pricing. Note where the savings land. Cheaper chips cut what it costs Microsoft to run Copilot. Nothing in the announcement says those savings reach your invoice, and I would not budget as if they will. For most firms the useful version of this has nothing to do with silicon. Work out which part of your AI bill you rent at somebody else's margin, how fast it is growing, and what you would do if the price rose by half. That might mean keeping the option to swap models, moving simple tasks onto cheaper ones, or tracking cost per task the way you track cost per hire. I write about shifts like this every week in BrkThru Leadership, if you want the longer version: https://lnkd.in/dHsc3YTe My bet is that by the end of 2027 most firms will be paying more per AI task than they budgeted for, while their suppliers pay less to run it. CFOs, if your main AI supplier put its prices up by 50% next year, which product would you have to reprice first? #AI #Strategy #Leadership #CFO #DigitalTransformation

Delivered one of two keynote addresses at the PMVG-Google Public Media Leadership Summit at Google's New York City headquarters, October 15-16, 2026. The talk, Public Media in Liminal Times, looked at four vectors along which AI is transforming the media system and raised some good questions. I pointed the audience the September 2026t report by David Caswell and Shuwei Fang, Signals at Scale, Value in the emerging AI-mediated information ecosystem (https://lnkd.in/gar-ZtAF). The other keynote speaker was Vint Cerf, now focusing on interplanetary communication infrastructure at his company Tolero Networks. Lots of actionable information on the uses of AI in public media and great examples of AI-enabled innovations, such as the partnership between KQED and B-Spoke.ai in the San Francisco Bay Area. Thanks Marc Hand for the invite and David Stoller for hosting.

So pleased to see another impactful session. Engaging C-suite leaders has never been easy; whilst access isn't the challenge anymore, genuine engagement is. At the Boardroom Club, leaders come together to have honest conversations about the opportunities, challenges and realities of scaling AI. The message was clear: AI ambition is everywhere. The differentiator is execution. The organisations investing in the right foundations today will be the ones delivering measurable outcomes tomorrow. If you are interested in a getting involved, drop me a message. #Boardroom #SeraphScience #CxO #CIO #CTO #CISO #CFO #AI
AI ambition in the boardroom has never been higher. But turning that ambition into measurable business value depends on foundations that many organisations are still working to build. Last week, The Boardroom Club brought together #CFOs, #COOs, #CTOs and #CIOs from some of the UK's largest organisations to explore what it really takes to move from AI experimentation to enterprise-wide impact. The discussion highlighted a clear challenge: while investment and interest in AI continue to accelerate, success relies on much more than the technology itself. Data readiness, governance, operating models, skills, and executive alignment all play a critical role in creating sustainable value. A huge thank you to everyone who joined us for such a candid and insightful conversation, and to our partners Cognizant and Google Cloud for helping shape the discussion. The organisations that get these foundations right today will be the ones best positioned to unlock AI's full potential tomorrow. Interested in joining future Boardroom Club discussions? Send George Whittington a message to find out more about the remaining sessions taking place this year. #BoardroomClub #ArtificialIntelligence #DigitalTransformation #Leadership #EnterpriseTechnology #AIStrategy

Great leadership is about thinking bigger, embracing challenges, and creating opportunities for others to grow. AI innovation becomes more powerful when combined with visionary leadership and a commitment to making a positive impact. #AWS #ArtificialIntelligence #WomenInLeadership #Innovation #Leadership #WomenInTech #DigitalTransformation #CareerGrowth #AWSPartner
The Female Quotient, in partnership with Amazon Web Services (AWS), is spotlighting visionary women who are thinking bigger about what’s possible with AI. Early in her career, a mentor told Rianne van Veldhuizen, Vice President of Worldwide Financial Services at AWS, “You think too small.” She took that advice to heart, later building a career around taking risks, embracing unfamiliar opportunities, and challenging the status quo. Now, as AI reshapes financial services, Rianne is known for thinking large. And what grounds her as she tries new things is a belief that leadership matters as much as the technology itself. Her main goal as a leader and an innovator is this: “Leave it better than you found it.” Read her full profile here: https://lnkd.in/gUzE5v64 #AWSPartner

I love this leadership style, I think on my team members as they have a new pot and they will bloom. Sometimes we learn by doing, specially now that Tech is evolving rapidly.
