Artificial intelligence (AI) has emerged as a powerful tool for researchers, but it also introduces concerns surrounding transparency and trust. The scientific enterprise is at a critical juncture to determine how these tools can be used responsibly while taking advantage of the innovation they provide. The National Academies are seeking suggestions for experts to serve on the Standing Committee on Use of AI in Science: Integrity, Trust, and Innovation in the Scientific Enterprise. The standing committee will explore how artificial intelligence is challenging norms and standards, and what governance mechanisms can be used to ensure research trustworthiness, reproducibility, and alignment with societal values. The standing committee will host a series of public sessions organized around key topics, including research integrity and reproducibility; transparency and trustworthiness; authorship and accountability; and peer review. We invite you to submit your suggestions by September 30, 2026: https://ow.ly/sFyx50ZMEFL #ArtificialIntelligence #AI #Research #Science #Reproducibility
