If you close $50k+ deals, I have news: Sales is not a numbers game. Sales is a skills game. 7 skills that grow your income without burning out on the volume game: 1. Finding 'the need behind the need.' Great salespeople dig under the surface. When buyers share their problems, they listen. But then they follow up with: "What's going on in your business that's driving that to be a priority?" THAT gets to the true priority. 2. Quantifying customer pain. No measurement, no money. Quantifying pain does three things: a) justifies the spend b) creates urgency c) helps your customer appreciate the magnitude of the problem. Try asking: "What metric is suffering as a result of these challenges?" 3. Creating champions. A great champion runs through brick walls to get the deal done. They sell your product internally when you're not in the room. Indeed: Salespeople don't close deals. Champions do. A league of champions is like a magnetic force for closing deals. 4. Business acumen. The best sellers in the world are actually businesspeople that happen to know how to sell. Don't just improve your SALES acumen. Improve your BUSINESS acumen. Senior execs will respect you 10x more than reps who only know the latest sales techniques. 5. Executive conversations You can close five-figure deals without this skill. But if you want to close six, seven, and eight figure deals? You better have gravitas when it comes to 'facing off' with senior execs. They're direct. They use plain language. They're efficient. 6. Negotiation. Negotiation is a 'threshold' skill. That means it makes almost all of your other skills more valuable. Becoming a great negotiator will pay dividends the rest of your life. Dig in and master it. 7. Writing. Clear writing indicates clear thinking. Sloppy writing indicates sloppy thinking. Your job as a seller is to persuade and communicate. Become a master of every medium that involves: - sales calls - written word - group presentations What skills would you add?

  • 90% of product pages struggle to convert. With conversion rates below 2%. Mainly because of: - Poor copy - Poor design  - Difficult to use Positioning as a premium brand?  Then optimizing for these is even more critical. In this post, using Hawaii Coffee's example, I'll be sharing how you can increase your sales by improving copy, design and usability. Below are the 8 changes I recommend - 1. Adding a short description below product name. This should show the brand's personality and tell something valuable about your product. 2. Using an image that catches attention. This is key. Use an image that leaves a memorable impression. 3. Highlighting key features before add to cart CTA. These should be in bullets and each within 3 words. 4. Making sure the variants are super clear. Consider using images if selling different flavors, colors. 5. Highlighting why someone should subscribe and not just purchase one time. This brings you recurring revenue monthly. 6. Adding short copy that builds trust in the brand and product. Don't hide this under an accordion. 7. Adding FAQs. Check with your sales/customer support team for common questions. Also these are great for SEO. 8. Adding USPs with icons. These are reasons why you should trust the brand and why the product is great. Other design changes I made: - Increased font size in places - Removed the image thumbnails - Moved price close to the product name - Added the weight next to price to show value - Added service USPs below add-to-cart CTA Found this useful? Let me know in the comments! P.S. You can also do this for your ads. Have you ever tried these? #conversionrateoptimization

You can grow revenue without raising prices. Most CEOs default to price increases when they want to boost the top line. But that's not always the right move. There are 5 proven ways to increase revenue without touching your pricing at all. Let me walk you through each one: 1. Focus on Your Best Customers ➟ Not all customers bring the same value. ➟ Best-fit clients close faster and churn less. ➟ The right focus improves win rates. Try this: Define your top customer profile. Reallocate pipeline effort toward that segment. Watch your close rates climb. 2. Fix Your Sales Conversion ➟ Many leads never become customers. ➟ Small improvements create immediate revenue. ➟ Better conversion lowers acquisition costs. Try this: Audit your last 20 lost deals. Find the #1 reason they stalled. Fix that first. 3. Increase Customer Retention ➟ A 5% retention increase can boost profit 25–95%. ➟ Loyal clients create steady, predictable revenue. ➟ Retention strengthens long-term growth. Try this: Identify the main reason customers leave. Fix one churn driver this quarter. Just one. Start there. 4. Grow Existing Accounts ➟ Upsells have 3–5× higher close rates than new deals. ➟ Trust already exists between buyer and seller. ➟ Account growth compounds without new acquisition cost. Try this: Review your top 20 customers. Identify one additional need you can solve. Have that conversation this week. 5. Build a Referral Engine ➟ Referrals close faster than cold prospects. ➟ Referred customers have higher lifetime value. ➟ Word-of-mouth scales without ad spend. Try this: Ask your 10 happiest clients for one intro. Make it part of your process, not an afterthought. Here's what changes when you apply all 5: ✅ Revenue grows without price resistance ✅ Growth becomes more predictable ✅ Customer lifetime value goes up ✅ Acquisition costs go down Start with the one area where you're leaving the most money on the table. Then work your way through the rest. Which of these five would make the biggest difference in your business right now? P.S. Want a PDF of my How to Raise Revenue Cheat Sheet? Sales growth comes down to 4 multipliers. Here’s the formula that actually works. Sales = Leads × Conversion Rate × Average Deal Size × Retention Rate. Most teams obsess over leads. More pipeline. More activity. More noise. That’s the slowest path to growth. The fastest path is improving all 4 at the same time. Start with leads. Focus on quality, not quantity. Use inbound, outbound, referrals, partnerships, and paid channels. Never rely on just one source. Next is conversion rate. This is how well your team sells. Speed up qualification with scoring. Shorten cycles by handling objections early. Increase win rates with proof and ROI-led conversations. Then look at average deal size. Upsell. Bundle. Price with intention. Top teams don’t just close deals. They close bigger ones. Finally, retention. Keep customers engaged and buying again. It’s more profitable than chasing new logos. And it compounds growth. Here’s what separates top teams from the rest. They’re process-driven. They’re data-driven. They’re customer-centric. When closing, follow the 70/30 rule. Let the buyer talk. You listen. Use the 3-Yes rule before asking for the big yes. People buy when they feel heard. Ask first. Sell later. Track CAC, LTV, win rate, cycle length, and churn. Lower your cost to win. Grow the value you keep. Everything else gets easier. Save this framework. Apply it. Watch growth accelerate.

  • The fastest way to increase sales? Stop selling Stop selling what you have and start selling what they actually want. The biggest mistake in marketing is assuming everyone buys for the same reason. They don’t. They buy based on what they’re missing. → Selling to rich people? Sell them time. → Selling to moms? Sell them convenience. → Selling to entrepreneurs? Sell them freedom. → Selling to older people? Sell them health and peace of mind. → Selling to broke people? Sell them hope with a realistic way out. → Selling to young professionals? Sell them progress. → Selling to luxury buyers? Sell them exclusivity. People pay more to feel different. → Selling to investors? Sell them certainty of calculated upside. The thing is best marketers don’t sell ‘just’ features. They identify the emotion, and aspiration driving the purchase, so build the message around that ! Because nobody wakes up wanting your product. They wake up wanting a better version of their life, so maybe try that ?

  • 7 proven ways to increase FMCG sales without discounts Discounts might seem like the easiest way to increase sales, but they’re also the fastest way to lose profits and damage your brand. There’s a better way. In 2013 when I started as a sales team lead in FMCG, I struggled. I relied on price discounts as the only way to increase my sales in stores, but this was unsustainable. Over time I learnt these 7 strategies and I’ve used them to double sales of established brands in retail outlets in 6 - 12 months. It is more sustainable for the company and your Bosses will love you. 1. Product visibility and placement. Shoppers buy what they see. Make sure your products are in the right place, such as eye-level shelves, hotspots, and checkout zones. 2. Strong retailer relationships. Retailers will champion your products if they feel valued and are incentivized. Offer quarterly rewards, better margins, or recognition programs to win their loyalty. 3. In-store communication. Your communication material in the store is your silent salesperson. Use clear, benefit-focused messages on materials like wobblers, banners, posters and shelf talkers to educate shoppers. 4. Right pricing. Help retailers stick to recommended prices. Educate them on their margins and how fair pricing improves volume and profits. 5. Product distribution. If it’s not on the shelf, it can’t sell. Fix stock outs, prioritize key outlets, and close distribution gaps to keep shelves full. 6. Shopper engagement through sampling. Sampling builds trust. Let shoppers experience your product firsthand through demos or activations in high-traffic stores. 7. Effective sales team execution. Your sales team is the engine. Train them, set clear KPIs, and give them juicy incentives to ensure great execution. Which strategy will you focus on first?

  • Revenue looks impressive until you realize your profit is gone. You’re closing deals, driving sales, and watching revenue climb. But your bank account? Barely moving. Why? Because profit isn’t tied to revenue. It’s tied to control. Here’s how to fix it: 1. Audit every expense. Cut what doesn’t directly drive revenue. 2. Raise your prices. Compete on value, not discounts. 3. Speed up cash collection. Invoice immediately. Follow up relentlessly. 4. Track profit margins weekly. Not quarterly. Not monthly. Every week. 5. Forecast with precision. Plan for cash gaps before they happen. Profit doesn’t just appear. It’s built. You don’t need more sales. You need more control. Stop watching revenue grow while profit disappears. Take control now or risk losing everything. #profit  #finance  #businessgrowth

  • 1 simple strategy increased my client’s revenue by 15.08% in just 3 months. There was this client i worked with in 2022. Few months back he again reached out His store was generating good revenue but he was looking for more So we had a meeting and discussed what we could do to increase his revenue And we ultimately find our solution - Upselling Upselling increased his Average Order Value (AOV) from $176.40 to $203.00, creating a better shopping experience for our customers. Here’s how we did it and how you can, too! 1️⃣ Pre-purchase upsells: We introduced related products right in the shopping cart. For instance, customers buying a blue T-shirt could see an offer for matching blue shoes with a 11% discount if added immediately, and 14% off if they added two products. Tool I am using: Upcart 2️⃣ Post-purchase upsells: After the initial purchase, we offered similar items with an even greater discount. This approach keeps the customer engaged even after the checkout process and increases the likelihood of additional sales. Tool I am using: Aftersell 3️⃣ Thank you page upsells: Our order confirmation page wasn’t just a dead end. We turned it into another sales opportunity by presenting time-sensitive offers on related products, significantly increasing the chances of further purchases. This is how you can implement upsells in your store ◾ Identify related products: Understand your customers' buying habits to offer complementary products. ◾ Use the right tools: Employ apps that facilitate smooth 1-click upsells and offer customizable tiered discounts. ◾ Monitor and optimize: You can always track the performance of your upsell strategies and tweak them based on customer feedback and analytics. If your store runs smoothly, upselling can turbocharge your sales numbers and enhance customer satisfaction through relevant offers. P.S. Drop your upselling experience in the comment box!
