Some of the specific highlights of improvements in this update include:
- The Ideas feature is now fully operational once more.
- Many of the sounds in the included Sibelius 7 Sounds library have been tweaked, including adjustments to balance, ranges, and so on.
- A new Sibelius 7 Sounds (Lite) playback configuration is included, which allows you to use the Sibelius 7 Sounds library on systems with less RAM: the “lite” sounds consume less RAM and are faster to load than the full sounds (but they still sound great!).
- When exporting audio using Sibelius 7 Sounds, notes are no longer incorrectly cut short under some circumstances.
- Sibelius now more reliably detects when it is running out of memory while loading sounds in the Sibelius Player, and shows a dialog giving you options for how to proceed.
- Many improvements to printing, including a fix for the problem whereby some parts would print from the system default printer instead of the printer chosen in File > Print, and more besides.
- Fixes for a number of problems relating to the use of European keyboard layouts for keyboard shortcuts (including the , key on the numeric keypad)
- General stability improvements, including ensuring that Sibelius is able to restart correctly if it crashes and Windows 7 tries to restart it automatically.
- General performance improvements, including optimisation for drawing the Mixer and the playback line on Mac, which makes Sibelius more responsive during playback.
In total there are around 200 fixes and improvements included in Sibelius 7.0.3, and you can check out the complete list here. Once you’re ready to update, grab the download here.
There are some other little gems in this update, about which I’ll provide more details in the coming days.
Great news! Now…, I haven’t upgrade to 7.02 yet – can I go straight from 7.01 to 7.03? Thanks for everything!
Steve
Yes, you can update directly from Sibelius 7.0 or 7.0.1 to Sibelius 7.0.3 without updating to the intervening version(s).
That’s a good update, for the sounds especially, clever improvements.
Excellent news, the inclusion of a “lite” version of Sibelius 7 Sounds is especially welcome to those of us with less powerful systems.
Thanks so much for the update! It’s nice to see some issues I reported made it in! I appreciate being able to go back to my beloved Dvorak layout without penalty. It’s also nice to have the PDF export page linked to a hotkey. This is a large update; congratulations to you and the dev team!
merci et beau travail pour les européens (français) ‘⌘A’ doesn’t work yet
I’m sure that Command-A does work! When are you using it that you find it doesn’t work?
Daniel, that is really amazing. You addressed and solved all the issues I was having with 7.0.2. The 30-minute, 940 bar piece for big orchestra that was causing all the problems is now playing back wonderfully. Thanks to you and your team!
Great, I’m really happy to hear it. Hopefully you will be able to enjoy Sibelius 7 as we intended it to be enjoyed from this point onwards! Happy composing!

même sur clavier français?
croyez moi j’adore sibelius!!!!
Thank you for changing so the help (F1) is now working with all PDF browsers ( not just Adobe’s Reader as it was before 7.03)
Sibelius forever :)
