Slashdotters probably know this, but people who don't know or keep in mind how an LLM works, will get a lot of bullshit out of them (as will anyone who knows that, but ar least he'll be sceptical, check sources and phrase questions the other way round and/or multiple times). I've noticed that since LLMs provide sources, that the fact that those exist is already "good enough" for a lot of gullible idiots. Although, in my experience, just as often as not does a source contain the meaning the LLM is using it for, and sometimes even the sources themselves are either halucinated or not very trustworthy.

you're right, but where's the practical difference between having an AI (probably inaccurately) sum up what was said vs. writing personal notes yourself afterwards. You don't need permission for that. Sure, the AI does this for all audio, so there quantity might make all the difference, but from a quality standpoint, I don't see much of a difference.

this is not a recording, just as caching/streaming is not considered "downloading" or listening for a wake word is also not considered "recording". Although both streaming/caching and keeping the mic open for a keyword while caching audio are, in a technical sense, obviously "recordings"
