Gartner now expects global AI spend to hit $2.7 trillion in 2026, up 49.5% on last year. The more interesting detail is where that spend is going. Gartner says generative AI is now entering the "Trough of Disillusionment," with organisations increasingly choosing simple, embedded AI features over big standalone transformation projects.   We'd call that a healthy correction, not a slowdown. The projects failing right now are mostly the ones chasing a flashy use case instead of a specific, well-scoped business problem.   If 2025 was about proving AI could work, 2026 is shaping up to be about proving it's worth the invoice.   #AI #DigitalStrategy #Gartner #Innovation
