With support from the JobsOhio Ohio Site Inventory Program (OSIP), vacant lots like the one at the corner of Joyce and Windor Avenues in Columbus can be transformed into magnets for business investment. Community partners have come together to realize the potential of Central Columbus Commerce 71 for bringing economic growth to the South Linden area while improving a blighted site in the neighborhood. The construction of two light manufacturing or industrial facilities, totaling nearly 625,000 square feet, will help meet strong tenant demand and accommodate a large range of user types and sizes. Already zoned for manufacturing and conveniently located within the I-270 loop, the property will be attractive to prospective companies while bringing jobs and investment to the community. Breaking: Neptune North, a UK-based technology consultancy, will establish a U.S. technology hub at a to be determined location in the Columbus Region, creating 75 jobs by the end of 2029. Neptune North addresses a gap in the technology services market by pairing strategic consulting with the technical capability to build and implement solutions. The consultancy provides data, artificial intelligence, software and consulting services to businesses in the finance and other industries. “The Columbus Region gives Neptune North access to the exceptional talent, business community and connectivity we need to serve U.S. clients and build a strong foundation for long-term growth,” said James Beard, CEO of Neptune North. The Columbus Region is emerging as a destination for biotech companies looking to turn groundbreaking research into real-world impact. A growing life sciences ecosystem is bringing together research, commercialization, talent and investment across the Region, including: City Therapeutics, launched from research conducted at The Ohio State University Sarepta Therapeutics, which has built a significant gene therapy research presence in Columbus Ohio State University Comprehensive Cancer Center-James Cancer Hospital & Solove Research Institute, strengthening Columbus’ position in cancer research and patient care Together, they show how Columbus is creating an environment where biotech companies and the talent behind them can build, grow and bring new discoveries closer to patients.

In Ohio, artificial intelligence is on the job, reducing paperwork, making faster decisions, welding ship hulls, strengthening public services, and powering new forms of manufacturing and logistics. Columbus is once again setting the pace for Midwest job growth. New federal data shows the Columbus metro added 11,977 jobs from March 2025 to March 2026, with employment growing at more than 18 times the national rate. Columbus also ranked among the nation’s top metros for job growth and wage growth, with total quarterly wages rising 6.9% to more than $22 billion.
