FormatException raised when checking updates for Github-sourced apps

Describe the bug

An exception raised when trying to checking any updates from Github-sourced applications. The message raised is a bit vague for me to understand.

To Reproduce

0. Add url of app to track
1. Check any update, either pulling on the Apps page, or individual entry
2. Observe

Whoops, I discovered the reason why: it was due to the proxy url accidentally being inserted. My apologies.

I think I can close this issues due to my oversight.
