In our Jacobs Faculty Master Class series, you can find out! From our concert halls to your screen, get a rare glimpse of our renowned faculty’s pedagogy in this collection of live teaching sessions. Whether you’re a rising musician, an aspiring digital creator, or just about anything in between, our series provides fresh insight for every developing artist.

The Elm Quartet

Rachel McClellan, violin | Jisu Youn, violin | Wan-Zhen Xie, viola | Belle Ra, cello 

The Elm Quartet, formed at the Jacobs School of Music, unites musicians from South Korea, Taiwan, and the United States. Members bring diverse global experiences, with solo performances at venues such as the Meyerson Symphony Center and the Eisemann Center as well as across Korea, Taiwan, Brazil, and the U.S. Members have appeared as soloists and chamber musicians worldwide and have participated in renowned festivals such as the Aspen Music Festival, Heifetz International Music Festival, Music Academy of the West, and Pacific Music Festival.

The Calamansi Quartet

Noah Arcenas, violin | Tyler Tran, violin | Olive Loentz, viola | Nicholas Hilliard, cello 

The Calamansi Quartet was formed in 2024 at the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music and was awarded the position of the Kuttner String Quartet-in-Residence for the 2025-26 academic year. Committed to community service, the group recently partnered with the Office of Wellness and Arts Health Initiatives to perform concerts at IU Health Bloomington Hospital and local senior-living communities. This summer, the quartet will be the Emerging Artists Quartet-in-Residence at Madeline Island Chamber Music, which will be followed by a weeklong residency in the Minneapolis-Saint Paul metropolitan area.
