How ungrateful we are, how ungrateful we are, o how ungrateful we are! To the One who evaporates the water from seas, rivers, oceans and lakes, not contemplating upon His signs and blessings is a grave mistake.

How ungrateful we are, how ungrateful we are, O how ungrateful we are! to the One who causes the plants and trees to take in water through it’s green shady leaves, not contemplating upon His signs, and being ungrateful is a blindness; upon the heart and the intellect.

How ungrateful we are, how ungrateful we are, O how ungrateful we are! He is the One who causes water to condense into fluffy clouds sometimes full of snow, hail and rain, we admire these clouds without thinking ab

Whose footsteps from among the people, ideas, and influences around you are you actually following most closely? And do they draw you nearer to the path of those Allah has favored, or closer to confusion and distance from Him?

I have made a very conscious effort over the years to surround myself with the things that bring out the best in me. I have left many things, and I continue to replace them with things that are so much better. My life feels more peaceful. One of the first things I started to cut back on extremely was social media. I deleted some apps entirely, and others I allow myself a limit, and I monitor the content that is being presented to me. I don't mindlessly scroll anymor

This ayah is a hope, a Strong support, an assurity and peace of heart and mind for me. Isn't beautiful? That Allah comforts us by calling Him our guardian and helper ( who would be better guardian and helper than Allah swt). HE SWT not only comforts us, but before that reminds us that He is the only king of all heavens and earth. All authority belongs to HIM. He is only capable of all things. How much blessed we are to have a creator like HIM, The most Merciful, and HE is powerful over everything.

Do you not know that the kingdom of the heavens and the earth belongs ˹only˺ to Allah, and you have no guardian or helper besides Allah? (107)

When I recite this ayah from Surah Al-Kahf, many thoughts come to my mind. One of them is that in our daily life, we often get stuck in arguments that are not worthy and are useless for our life and Deen. Yet, we still waste our time on such things. One day, I had a conversation with a person about the Qur’an. He said that Adam (AS) ate the prohibited fruit because Hawwa (AS) told him to do so, but this is not mentioned in the Qur’an. I told him that this is not in the Qur’an; rather, it is mentioned in the Bible. Then our argument started, and we forgot the main purpose of why Allah mentioned this story in the Qur’an—what lessons we should take from it and how it relates to the challenges i

I keep coming back to this verse, especially on the days when life feels heavy, and the to-do list feels endless. There's something Allah says here that I genuinely needed to hear: He doesn't ask us to figure out the provision. He never did. He asks us to pray and to be consistent about it. That's it. The rizq? He's already handling it. And yet, if I'm honest with myself, how many times have I let the salah slide because I was "too busy" chasing the very thing Allah already promised to take care of? This verse gently exposes that contradiction. It reminds me that the real work, the work that actually matters, is showing up on the prayer mat, again and again, even when life is chaotic. Becaus

When you ask Allah to guide you, are you truly open to where that guidance might take you, even if it asks you to change habits, leave a sin, or step into something harder but better?

I believe that for the most part, when I ask Allah to guide me, I am accepting that whatever plan that I have for myself may not be the best for me. Over time, I have learned that sometimes it's necessary to leave things that you might not want to. When I took my Chicago last year, I was with my son's father for 6 years, and he was not Muslim. Without getting into the details of our relationship, some things already led me to leave, but ultimately it was for the sake of Allah. It was an extremely hard choice t

I was recently reflecting on these verses when I saw the AI notes from a meeting I attended. I realized that I had said a few random things and had immediately forgotten about them.

But there they were when I opened the notes - transcribed in black and white.

Have you ever experienced something like this? What reflections do you have on these verses? Do any other verses come to mind?

SubhanAllah, we forget but Allah never forgets. Yesterday I had a similar experience, I was looking through my photos and I saw a photo from my messages, one that my sister had sent me. I was so confused on the context of it, so I tried to go back to the messages, and they just made me more confused. Both me and my sister had no idea what the messages meant, even though they were sent by us! How strange that people forget not just what they've said, but even what it meant! It's scary to think about being held accountable for all the things I've done that I've forgotten. May Allah pardon our misdeeds, the ones we remember, and the ones we forgot.

Read this ayah a few times this morning, each time feeling something slightly different... relief, urgency, fear, hope, ease.

Relief that Allah will punish and destroy and render meaningless those who seek His displeasure.

Urgency that I might be among them.

Fear that I haven't shown Allah ﷻ I want to be His servant and am trying with my full effort.

Hope that Allah ﷻ will accept the dua I make with every surat alfatiha to be among the people He has blessed.

Ease knowing that He is well aware of the plotting and planning of the evildoers, well aware of what capability I have, and that I am held accountable to my efforts, not my outcomes.

Bismillah. SubhanAllah, when it comes to the commands in the Qur‘an, most of us believe we are aware of them. Pray, fast, pilgrimage — and the likes. But eating from what is lawful and good (healthy) is a direct command from Allah as well. It can be an act of worship if we intend it to be. Don’t ever think you’re wasting time in the necessary and mundane moments of life. Everything can be an act of worship. Be grateful for the food and remember this verse, you are obeying and worshipping Allah by eating what is lawful. This is why the intention behind everything in our lives can be redirected to Allah.

Quick reflection:

Allah ﷻ reminds us often about our weakness. The time when we were nothing but a baby, tiny and incapable of doing anything except crying. It makes me wonder... why were we made this way?

Every animal in the animal kingdom has at least some capabilities and strengths even when they are newly born. Foals can stand upright. Baby fish can swim and search for their own food. Not many creatures begin their lives in a weaker state than the human being.

Not only is it humbling but it also made me think... what is the one special thing about the human being? What is the one skill we need right from the point we are born, without which w
