We offer the most important insights and deeper analyses in what's going on thru the global landscape. Given the landscape is so vast, we focus on someone who have deep understanding of his or her own respective country and ecosystem. The idea is to cover interesting trends in the business of technology and media in Asia through three channels: (a) pundits or correspondents from media who covered business, technology and media as a whole, (b) business leaders within the technology or media industry who are operating globally and (c) important thought leaders coming from both startup and investor ecosystems.

  • Recently, our host Bernard Leong recorded a timely conversation with Yoel Roth, SVP and Head of Trust & Safety at Match Group in Poddster Singapore, on one of the most important questions facing digital platforms today: How do you build trust in an internet shaped by fraud, impersonation, digital harm, and AI-generated risk? In this episode, we explore: - Why Trust & Safety has become a core strategic function for global platforms - What AI changes in fraud detection, moderation, and proactive safety - Why platform governance is becoming one of the defining leadership challenges of the next decade This was not just a conversation about dating platforms or social media. It was a conversation about the future architecture of digital trust. Episode coming soon on the week of 27 April 2026. Watch this space! #TrustAndSafety #PlatformGovernance #AI #OnlineFraud

  • Is #AGI Just Around the Corner? (Spoiler: Probably Not) 🤖 "We have so far to go." Michael Smith Jr. (The Generalists Show) debunked the current AGI frenzy. While AI infrastructure is scaling at record speed, the transition to autonomous, real-world robotics is still in its infancy. Key highlights from the episode: 🔹 Why current AGI timelines are mostly "sales talk." 🔹 The significance of XPeng’s humanoid robot "Iron" and its lifelike movements. 🔹 Why "step one" of real-world models is harder than it looks. Don't get distracted by the hype—focus on the long-term engineering hurdles. • Why the #AI Bubble is Smaller Than You Think Up until now, the AI revolution has been self-funded by the massive cash piles of the "Magnificent Seven." But that's changing. Microsoft, Google, and Amazon are increasingly moving toward borrowing to fund the next generation of AI data centers. Michael Smith Jr. joins Bernard Leong to discuss why this pivot matters and whether "hidden balance sheets" are masking the true size of the AI infrastructure boom. Despite the debt, the "Nvidia factor" remains. If the numbers keep blowing expectations out of the water, the party might just keep going. • From TOKEN2049 to SuperAI: Why the most important AI infrastructure is invisible with Peter Noszek. What if the future of AI isn’t decided by models …but by who gets in the same room together? In our latest episode with Peter Noszek and our host Bernard Leong, we explore a different layer of the AI stack — one that rarely gets discussed: 👉 The human coordination layer Some key ideas from the conversation: 🔹 Fragmentation is the real bottleneck AI today is being built across disconnected nodes — labs, startups, hyperscalers, governments — often without strong bridges between them. 🔹 Asia’s opportunity is bigger than it looks There is underutilized compute, growing enterprise demand, and increasing capital flows across Southeast Asia. The missing piece is not infrastructure — it’s connection. 🔹 Convergence is inevitable: While models may diverge across the US, China, and beyond, distribution and applications are converging onto the same global platforms. Collaboration will matter more than competition. 🔹 AI agents are already changing how work gets done: From logistics to scheduling to simulation, agents are moving from theory to production — but the real question is how we scale them safely and meaningfully. At Analyse Podcast, we’ve always believed that the most important shifts in technology are not just technical — they are systemic. This episode is a reminder that: #AI is not just software. It is an ecosystem and ecosystems require deliberate design 🎧 Listen to the full episode here and read the full transcript here. #PaxSilica #TOKEN2049 #SuperAI #AIInfrastructure

  • Pop, Fizzle, or Taper? Understanding the #AI Infrastructure Bubble 🫧 "Bubbles create an amazing amount of forward momentum." In our latest clip, Michael Smith Jr. breaks down the historical necessity of financial bubbles. While the word "bubble" often sparks fear, Michael Smith Jr. from the The Generalists #podcast highlights how these periods of high confidence build the world's most critical infrastructure—including the AI systems we are scaling today. The real question isn't whether we're in a bubble, but how the eventual correction will look. • Why the Co-Founder of TOKEN2049 and SuperAI still bets on "The Room." In an era of hyper-digitalization, why does Peter Noszek spend his life building massive physical bridges like TOKEN2049 and SuperAI? He spent his time explain to our founder, Bernard Leong on Analyse Podcast. Because digital tools, for all their efficiency, have a "silo" problem. In our latest episode, Peter shares a 100% conviction: Most organizational failure isn't a lack of talent—it’s a breakdown in the flow of information. We’ve become so fragmented by our screens that we’ve lost the "natural" environments where real ideation happens. The Peter Noszek Philosophy on "The Pie": - Beyond Digital Silos: Digital connection is often shallow. Physical curation is the ultimate icebreaker. - Strategic Curation: It’s not just about meeting; it’s about the environment that allows information to flow properly. - Building Bridges: When you bring people together the right way, the mindset shifts from protecting a slice to growing the entire pie. Whether you are scaling a startup or a global conference, the lesson is the same: Alignment requires more than a Slack channel. It requires a bridge. The episode drops tomorrow. Watch this space!

  • The Brutal Truth About Southeast Asian Tech Hubs 🌏 "The 'year of whatever' is never actually the 'year of whatever.'" Michael Smith Jr., host of The Generalists #podcast discuss the recurring hype cycles in the SEA startup ecosystem. From the struggle of non-Singapore markets to the recent hits taken by Indonesia, Michael breaks down why the regional "alignment of stars" rarely materializes as promised. Agree or disagree? Recently, a week and half ago, I have a deep conversation on Trust and Safety across digital platforms with Yoel Roth, SVP and Head of Trust & Safety at Match Group in Poddster Singapore. What struck me most is how much Trust & Safety has moved from the margins to the center of strategy. For years, many technology companies treated safety, moderation, identity, fraud prevention, and platform governance as operational issues to be handled somewhere below the product and growth teams. That era is over. Today, these questions sit squarely in the boardroom: - How much friction should a platform introduce to create trust? - Where is the line between privacy, anonymity, and accountability? - How do companies defend against fraud and digital harm when attackers are also using AI? - Can safety become a competitive advantage rather than just a compliance cost? My conversation with Yoel reinforced a simple point: the future of digital platforms will not be defined only by engagement and scale, but by whether users feel safe enough to participate in the first place. This is especially important in a world of synthetic identities, AI-generated deception, and increasingly sophisticated scam networks operating across platforms. Thank you, Yoel, for a thoughtful, academic and deeply relevant discussion that balances between theory and practice in real world. It has been a pleasure. Looking forward to sharing this episode soon on Analyse Podcast on the week of 27 April 2026. Many thanks to Malcolm Robertson and Camélia Assaoui in working with me on the interview and the Poddster Singapore Team. Watch this space!
