David Joseph McGuinty PC MP (born February 25, 1960) is a Canadian lawyer and politician who has been a Member of Parliament for Ottawa South since 2004. He has been the Minister of National Defence since 2025. He was the Minister of Public Safety and Emergency Preparedness for two months in 2025. Before, he was the minister of public safety.[1]
