For many people around the world, coffee is a part of daily life. ☕ However, if left unchecked, the cultivation of this stimulant can have devastating consequences for the forests around the equator and requires close monitoring. Airbus has joined an initiative of large coffee traders and roasters, which, with our help, is using satellite imagery and AI analysis to create the world’s first publicly accessible map of coffee cultivation. Initiated by JDE Peet's and powered by Airbus, the Coffee Canopy Partnership is an industry-first, sector-wide initiative marking a major milestone towards deforestation free coffee. By sharing geospatial data of coffee plantations, Canopy provides them with the information they need to identify deforestation risk, support landscape restoration and protect the livelihoods of millions of smallholder farmers for generations to come. Seeing double! There are now two Land Surface Temperature Monitoring (LSTM) satellites in our cleanroom in Getafe 🇪🇸! While the first satellite’s platform is nearly complete and undergoing tests, our teams are starting to work on its twin. The satellites’ mission is to monitor the Earth's surface temperature by providing both high-resolution thermal infrared images and field temperature data at a 50-metre scale. LSTM is part of the Copernicus Expansion missions developed by the European Space Agency - ESA on behalf of the European Commission. Airbus is leading a consortium of 81 companies from 21 countries to deliver these climate monitoring satellites. Launch is planned at the end of this decade.

Airbus has entered into an agreement for the acquisition of the French cyber-security company Quarkslab. This planned investment is another step of Airbus’ strategy to reinforce its position as a trusted, sovereign partner for French authorities, while strengthening its presence in the European cybersecurity landscape. Closing of the transaction is expected in the course of 2026. With about 100 employees mainly based in Paris and Rennes, Quarkslab delivers cyber security solutions to help organisations protect critical assets, data, and users from cyberattacks. It also markets QShield, a comprehensive solution for software providers, to protect software against AI threats, safeguard data, secrets and code and to secure edge components, namely in the defence and aerospace industries, from being reverse engineered by attackers or AI. Airbus Defence and Space, Thales Alenia Space, a joint venture between Thales (67%) and Leonardo (33%), and RADMOR S.A. today announced the signing of an industrial cooperation agreement to develop a geostationary defence telecommunications satellite dedicated to the Polish Ministry of Defence. The announcement was made during a ceremony attended by Polish Defence Minister Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz, and French Minister of the Armed Forces Catherine Vautrin as well as Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk and French President Emmanuel Macron. The event took place amid celebrations of the fellowship day between France and Poland, underscoring the longstanding industrial cooperation between the two nations. As part of the ‘Readiness 2030’ plan initiated by the European Commission in 2025, this new geostationary satellite will offer secure communications for the Polish armed forces, ensuring a very high level of robustness and resilience. With the return of high-intensity conflicts in a more contested space environment, this end-to-end system will be cyber- secured across ground and space segments, resistant to threats, thereby contributing to the strengthening of Poland’s national space sovereignty. Artemis II is clearing the path for the next frontier🚀 Its success is the foundation for Artemis III and IV, where humankind will once again step onto the lunar surface. But returning is the first step. To stay on the Moon, we must learn to live there in a sustained manner, using in-situ resources such as lunar ice for air and regolith to build habitats. 🌕🏗️ As other innovations created from space research, what we learn in the harsh lunar environment will help us better live on our planet.💡🌍 #Artemis #SpaceMatters European Space Agency - ESA

Thanks for your encouraging words, Reid 🙏 While communicating with the NASA control centre during the final phase of the return to Earth, Artemis II commander Reid Wiseman said " We just wanted to give a huge shout out to the ESA Airbus team, to our friends in the Netherlands, in Germany and at the Glenn Research Center. This vehicle powered us, and it propelled us from the Earth to the Moon and back with extreme precision, and we are excited to be a part of your team." European Space Agency - ESA
