Many, many moons ago, BuzzFeed Tasty published a Chicken Cordon Bleu recipe that millions of people watched (and made!) at home. For our 10th anniversary…we got to serve it in real life. We partnered with NYC’s Brown Bag Sandwich Co to transform one of our most-watched original recipes into a limited-time chopped sandwich on their menu, and my GOD was it gorgeous and absolutely delicious. Even better: earning 3M organic views across our social promos was such an exciting reminder that the recipes people love on their screens can have an IRL life beyond it. Big shout outs to Gilli Rozynek and Chef Antonio Barbieri at Brown Bag and Tasty’s incredible Video and Culinary teams for bringing this one to life. Yesterday, I had the opportunity to visit the BuzzFeed office alongside a group of Fordham students. During our visit, we participated in a focus group to test a new app BuzzFeed is developing, contributed to a social media video, toured the office, and gained insight into the company’s work and culture. It was especially exciting to have my perspective included in the focus group and to learn more about how ideas come to life in such a fast-paced, creative environment.
