NEW: As Elon Musk's xAI continues to evolve and shift focus, employees are leaving the company — and not just cofounders. A Fast Company review identified more than 80 employees who have recently left xAI. These include plenty of engineers and members of the company's technical staff, but people focused on other areas, too, including the intelligence community, legal advising, and AI safety. Naturally, people come and go from any company. Still, these exits provide insight into the state of the AI talent wars. They also indicate how staff are responding to recent changes at xAI, which include an acquisition by SpaceX, a change in its AI tutor strategy, and multiple reorganizations. These exits also come after several scandals involving Grok, the company's chatbot. What are your thoughts on work trials? For Fast Company, we break down what they are, the pros, and the cons for both the employer & job seeker. To start: "Work trials are when an interviewee is asked to complete job-related tasks over a short period of time—often a few days or up to a week—so an employer can evaluate how they perform in a real working environment before making a hiring decision." Some are paid, other forms of work assessments are not. Would you do one? Why, or why not? https://lnkd.in/g_8Z4FtT #freelance #work #hiring #jobseekers #entreprenuership

AI isn’t just introducing new risks, it’s exposing how quickly the traditional security models break down. In a conversation with Rob Pegoraro at Fast Company, 1Password’s CTO, Nancy Wang, put it simply: “AI is both a threat and a tool, and companies have to approach it as both.” Employees are adopting tools faster than security can keep up, and agents are starting to act on their behalf. That’s the tension organizations are navigating now as AI is changing who and what gets access. But the answer isn’t to slow AI down. It’s to rethink access across both human and non-human identities, in a way that adapts in real time. Security can no longer rely on static controls, it has to move at the speed of work.
