I had the pleasure of visiting knownwell's newest clinic in Massachusetts earlier today as a patient. For years, I had visited knownwell’s clinics during grand openings and I had even seen Dr. Fitch after hours (thank you, Angela Fitch MD, FACP, MFOMA, Dipl. ABOM!). This is the first time I visited knownwell as a patient (or a “mystery shopper” patient) who is in need of care! As someone who has experienced concierge-level care in Asia and was frustrated by the U.S. healthcare experiences, I honestly didn’t know what to expect before I went in. As an investor, I have read about the 90+ NPS score over the last 3 years. Oh boy, it’s totally different to “experience” the care vs hear about it. It’s by far the best healthcare experience I have ever had. When I went into the clinic, I purposely took off my Knownwell jacket. I wanted to experience what it’s like to be a brand-new patient. Michelle welcomed me to the clinic with a big smile, checked me in, and helped me measure my weight and height. I then settled down in a spacious exam room. Dr. Khanna was kind and thorough. We went through my family history and my recent health challenges in a way that I have never experienced before in the U.S. (the only comparable experience was a day-long comprehensive health check/wellness clinic that targets MNC corporate executives in Taiwan). In addition to addressing my recent health challenges, we also developed a game plan for comprehensive assessment and follow-ups. The compassion and attention to detail are unparalleled at knownwell, as someone who has had all sorts of challenges when it comes to scheduling a PCP appointments for years (yes, my previous PCP would not be available for an Annual Visit unless I wait for 6 months. Plus, I will probably need to wait for a year or longer if I want to switch to a new PCP in the system). I wish I could give knownwell a +101 in NPS score. Toward the end of my visit, I proudly put on my knownwell jacket. The incredible Nicholas Z. gave me a tour of the beautiful clinic toward the end. It was truly a 6-star experience through and through! Thank you, Brooke Boyarsky Pratt, Angela Fitch MD, FACP, MFOMA, Dipl. ABOM, James Chaukos, Jim Fitzgerald, Mike Gleichman, John Frager, and everyone knownwell for expanding access to high-quality primary care, metabolic health, and comprehensive health for all patients. I am so proud to be part of this journey and be a knownwell patient.

  • Last week, knownwell’s Dr. Giovanna Leddy was at the Massachusetts Statehouse advocating to protect MassHealth coverage for obesity treatment, including GLP-1 medications. “MassHealth members are disproportionately impacted by obesity. They have the most to gain from effective treatment — and the least ability to absorb costs if coverage is withdrawn.” Access to evidence-based care shouldn’t depend on income. Protecting this coverage is essential to improving health outcomes across Massachusetts. Watch Dr. Leddy's full testimony on WWLP-22News: https://lnkd.in/eKPpHkGU

  • knownwell co-founder Angela Fitch MD, FACP, MFOMA, Dipl. ABOM took the stage at SXSW for the Renaissance in Obesity Treatment Innovation panel, diving into what the next generation of treatments needs to look like.   Current GLP-1 receptor agonists have been groundbreaking but muscle loss, tolerability challenges, and frequent dosing requirements highlight the gaps that still need to be solved.   Obesity medicine experts discuss the ideal next-gen treatment that preserves muscle while targeting fat, offers better tolerability, and requires less frequent dosing. Advances in RNA medicines, expanding human genetics databases, and the promise of combination therapies are opening real doors for innovation.

  • Today is #WorldObesityDay. Obesity is a complex, chronic disease influenced by biology, genetics, mental health, environment, and access to care.
