Speaker #Spotlight | Google Workspace Security 🌐 💻 Perimeter security is no longer enough in a distributed world. Once your data leaves your network to reach a partner or remote employee, traditional defenses lose sight of it. On April 15, we are hosting a live briefing to show you how to solve this. Join experts from 66degrees and VirtruKevin Costello, Kyle Crowe, Susie Lee, Alexis Jarrett, and Tony Rosales — to see object-level encryption in action. We will move beyond theory with a live demo of how to protect sensitive files and emails, no matter where they travel. 📅 April 15, 2026 | 1:00 PM CT 👉 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗲 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝘀𝗽𝗼𝘁: https://lnkd.in/dbnDTwyh #Webinar #GoogleWorkspace #66degrees #Virtru #DataProtection #Encryption #CloudSecurity #DataPrivacy #Cybersecurity #GoogleCloud

The NSA's new director just told his workforce to share intelligence with allies "until it hurts" — but without the right data architecture, that order is a strategy without an engine. Find out why YESFORN is as much a technical challenge as a policy one, and what a cryptographically enforced, coalition-ready data framework actually looks like in practice. Subscribe to the ZT Brief today for more, and meet us at MPE Summit in April. Angel Smith

It's been a minute since I've covered any open source security topics, but OpenTDF kind of blew my mind. The big idea is to encrypt data once, then enforce policy everywhere the data travels. That's both inside *and* outside your network. The most basic example is sending a document as an email attachment with an access control policy tied to an IdP or social auth provider. The policy stays with the document wherever it goes, which means the identity provider has to validate the identity and permissions of the person accessing the file before it can be opened. You can change access on the fly, too. That's the mind-bending part for me. My mental model of security just assumed it wasn't possible to manage access at a file or data object level once it's left the network. Cool story behind the project, too: the Trusted Data Format (TDF) spec originated as a personal side project that Will Ackerly built during his time at the NSA. It ended up being mandated as an open spec by ODNI (the Office of the Director of National Intelligence, which is part of the broader ecosystem around CISA and intelligence community coordination). It's used all over the public and private sectors now. The commercial outcome of this was Virtru, which just raised a large round from ICONIQ last year. (The company was the byproduct of the standard, though – not the other way around.) This project is a good example of where I think we're heading with the data security market after the DSPM hype of the past few years. You've found sensitive data...great. Now what? Protect it. And better yet, take that protection everywhere the data goes.

CUI doesn't stay in one place. It travels through email, files, shipping boxes, and subcontractors — and every touchpoint is a potential compliance gap. No vendor pitches. Just real, actionable guidance from practitioners who've been on both sides of the assessment table. 📅 April 17 - 9am PST - Gaylord San Diego 🏖️ If you're a contractor navigating CMMC — you don't want to miss this one. 👇 Drop a comment or DM me if you're attending.
