It’s not a bootcamp. It’s a BuildCamp. Because we believe the real learning starts after the tutorial ends. This July, we’re launching something different — something built for African youth ready to stop watching and start building. Welcome to Summer BuildCamp 2025. An 8-week learning-by-building experience designed to take you from ideas to execution. Powered by DelTech Hub and a network of passionate mentors and partners. Here, you don’t just learn. You build — with structure, with mentorship, and with purpose. What makes Summer BuildCamp different?🎯 Tailored Learning Paths: Each track follows a roadmap created by mentors — not copied from courses. You get daily tasks, weekly goals, and clear milestones. Real Mentorship: Primary mentors guide you weekly, and are available to support you throughout. Secondary mentors (industry experts) step in to review, advise, and inspire. Live Weekly TrackMeetUps: Not just Q&As — real-time working sessions where tasks are broken down, explained, and implemented. Recognition Culture: Every week, top builders and impactful mentors are spotlighted. Excellence is seen and celebrated. The Final Challenge 🔥 After 8 weeks of building, it gets real. You’re grouped into a team of 7 across different tracks — Web Dev, App Dev, UI/UX, Cybersecurity, and Product. Together, you’ll build something that solves a real problem. You’ll pitch it live. And the most innovative team walks away with the prize. Top mentors are also awarded. The best projects are deployed online. This is more than just skills. It’s real collaboration. It’s real mentorship. It’s real confidence. This is where learners become builders. And builders become leaders. Are you a mentor who wants to give back? 💼 Do you have 2+ years of experience in: Web or App Development UI/UX Design Cybersecurity Product Strategy Do you want to guide and grow the next generation of tech talent in Africa? Or are you a learner ready to stop consuming and start creating? 📩 Reach out now: deltechhub237@gmail.com Or send a message to DelTech Hub | Delbert Kimbi | Andigema Joyce Ani to get involved as a mentor or participant. 𝗛𝗼𝘄 𝗛𝗮𝗰𝗸𝗮𝘁𝗵𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝗕𝘂𝗶𝗹𝗱 𝗥𝗲𝗮𝗹-𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗹𝗱 𝗦𝗸𝗶𝗹𝗹𝘀 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗦𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 "I'll never forget the moment I realized I didn't know what I didn't know." It was 2 AM at my first hackathon in college. My team was struggling to integrate our backend, hitting error after error. That's when it hit me – this wasn't like any classroom assignment I'd ever done. 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗥𝗲𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗖𝗵𝗲𝗰𝗸 In university, we build projects with clean datasets and plenty of time. Hackathons throw you into the real world with a problem, 48 hours, and a ticking clock. Here's what I didn't expect: The coding was only 30% of the challenge. 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗛𝗮𝗰𝗸𝗮𝘁𝗵𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝗔𝗰𝘁𝘂𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆 𝗧𝗲𝗮𝗰𝗵 𝗬𝗼𝘂 𝗥𝗲𝗮𝗹 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗯𝗹𝗲𝗺-Solving Under Pressure When your API breaks at 3 AM and submission is in 5 hours, you learn to debug faster than ever. You stop being precious about "perfect" code and focus on solutions that work. 𝗚𝗲𝗻𝘂𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝗧𝗲𝗮𝗺𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸 This wasn't about dividing tasks and hoping everyone delivers. We collaborated in real-time, made quick decisions, and adapted when our plan fell apart. I learned more about version control and team dynamics in 48 hours than in entire semesters. 𝗣𝗶𝘁𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗜𝗱𝗲𝗮𝘀 𝗧𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗠𝗮𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿 You don't just submit code – you present to judges who ask tough questions. Can you explain complex concepts simply? These are skills every developer needs. 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗖𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗲𝗿 𝗜𝗺𝗽𝗮𝗰𝘁 Research shows 70% of hackathon participants build networks that lead to job opportunities. But it goes deeper – you develop speed of learning, adaptability, and the confidence to tackle problems you've never seen before. My biggest takeaway: That first hackathon taught me imposter syndrome is just proof you're stepping into new territory. I didn't win. Our project barely worked. But I walked out with something more valuable: the confidence to tackle unknown problems. Three years later, facing complex cloud challenges in my first job, I drew on that experience. 𝗙𝗼𝗿 𝗦𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗧𝗵𝗲𝗶𝗿 𝗙𝗶𝗿𝘀𝘁 𝗛𝗮𝗰𝗸𝗮𝘁𝗵𝗼𝗻 Start before you feel ready. Focus on the problem, not the tech stack. Embrace the chaos – the real learning happens when everything goes wrong. Remember: 60% of participants are first-timers. The skills you build – rapid prototyping, team collaboration, presenting under pressure – aren't just hackathon skills. They're the foundation of every successful tech career. What's stopping you from signing up for your next hackathon? #Hackathons #StudentDevelopment #TechCareers #RealWorldSkills #Innovation #CareerGrowth

🌱 The Power of Mentorship in Your Tech Journey. Let’s be honest, the tech world can feel like a maze sometimes. You start out excited… then boom 💥, imposter syndrome, information overload, and “Where do I even start?” moments hit hard. That’s where mentorship changes everything. A good mentor doesn’t just teach you, they guide you. They’ve walked the path you’re trying to navigate. They’ve made the mistakes, so you don’t have to. Mentorship gives you: 💡 Clarity — on what to learn, and what to skip. ⚙️ Guidance — on building real-world projects that matter. 🚀 Confidence — to take up space, ask questions, and grow boldly. 🤝 Community — because learning in isolation is the biggest dream-killer. People go from confused beginners to confident professionals simply because someone believed in them enough to guide them. Sometimes, all you need is the right direction, not another tutorial. That’s why we built the Technical Writing Mentorship Program, focused on Mentorship and teaching Real-World Writing Skills. Luckily, we have a program coming up by Nov: API Documentation. In 3 months, we’ll take you from “I have no idea where to start” to “I can confidently write API docs and build a tech writing portfolio.” Applications are now open: https://lnkd.in/dMQSjp8Q If you’ve ever wanted to combine writing + tech, this is your sign. 🌍 📅 Duration: 2 Months 🧭 Focus: API Documentation, Writing Systems, Tools & Mentorship 🎯 Format: Hands-on learning + capstone projects If you also want to be part of our community, you can join using this link: https://lnkd.in/dGbJCjB8 #Mentorship #TechnicalWriting #CareerGrowth #LearningJourney #APIDocumentation #TechCommunity #RemoteJobs #WritingInTech #Documentation #LearnAndGrow

The best way to learn programming isn’t through tutorials — it’s by building a startup. 💡 Here’s why 👇 The worst-case scenario is you walk away with new skills — a language, a framework, or a tech stack. The best-case scenario? The startup you built to learn those tools ends up becoming your first exit. Either way, you win. I say this from experience. Before selling my most recent #startup, I had built several others. My first one was during undergrad — a platform called Vidy App, designed to help college students find barbers near campus and feel confident through peer reviews. I took that project to a campus startup competition and placed third. 🥉 Not first, but as a solo #founder, that validation gave me the confidence to keep going. Building that app forced me to spend hours outside of class learning how to code, debug, and deploy. I didn’t just build a product — I built a skill set. That experience opened doors to internships, mentorships, and a clear sense of belonging in the #techcommunity. Fast forward a decade later — my approach hasn’t changed. Whenever I want to learn something new, I #build around it. A new tool? A new framework? I’ll turn it into a product idea. That mindset didn’t just help me learn faster — it eventually led to an acquisition. 🚀 Whether you’re a junior developer just starting out or a staff engineer looking to grow — don’t wait for the perfect course, project, or certification. Build something that excites you. Because the best way to learn software is to ship software. 💻

Lessons in Planning, Partnership, and Purpose One of my most insightful experiences this year came from being part of the operations team for the upcoming Tech Bootcamp, which was initially slated for August 2025 but has now been rescheduled for 2026. The program was designed to train 200 teenagers in tech skills, and we began early planning with a clear vision in mind. Using Notion, we managed tasks, tracked deliverables, and assigned responsibilities across team leads — an excellent opportunity for me to gain hands-on experience with structured project management tools. Along the line, we faced a major challenge with fundraising, as the project required significant financial resources. But instead of giving up, we decided to pivot — and just as we did, a new opportunity opened up. An organization focused on tech education for children and teenagers reached out to us for a partnership, allowing us to gain practical experience and insights we could apply to our main Bootcamp next year. This journey has reminded me that delays aren’t denials — they’re often redirections for growth. Through this experience, we’ve refined our goals, strengthened our teamwork, and deepened our understanding of what it takes to bring a vision to life. Every challenge carries a lesson — if you stay open, adaptable, and persistent. #Operations #ProjectManagement #Leadership #Teamwork #TechBootcamp #LearningExperience #Growth

Many developers I talk to reach a point where they feel stuck. They know how to code, but aren’t sure what to learn next to take their career to the next level. When you already have programming experience, your learning needs are completely different from those of a beginner. You already have the basics - now you need to learn specific technologies or frameworks to add to your CV to grow your career. However, growing as a developer isn’t only about learning new tech - improving how you communicate and think through problems is just as crucial, if not more so. Most traditional courses provide a structured curriculum that covers the basics, maintains a fixed pace for all students, offers generic advice, and includes projects without real context. They also rarely address soft skills like communication, teamwork, or problem-solving, even though these are essential in real-world projects. That’s exactly where mentoring makes the difference: - an honest look at your current strengths and areas to improve - learning that cuts out the noise and focuses on what really matters - a clear view of what’s in demand in the industry right now - hands-on experience building real projects with modern tools - developing soft skills that help you collaborate effectively and grow your confidence - support in shaping the next step of your career based on your background With mentoring, you learn side by side with an experienced developer. You can ask questions, solve problems, and grow faster. #SoftwareDevelopment #ITjobs #Programming #Mentoring #SoftwareEngineering #Programming #TechMentorship #CareerGrowth #ContinuousLearning

Why Mentorship Matters More Than Ever in IT? In the fast-changing world of Information Technology, tools and trends evolve every few months but one thing remains constant: the value of mentorship. Mentorship in IT isn’t just about sharing technical skills. It’s about guiding mindset, career direction, and professional growth. A good mentor helps you: 🔹 Avoid common mistakes through shared experience 🔹 Learn faster by bridging the gap between theory and real-world practice 🔹 Build confidence when facing complex challenges 🔹 Develop soft skills like communication, teamwork, and leadership which are just as critical as coding or configurations. The truth is, no amount of online tutorials or certifications can replace the insights gained from someone who’s already walked the path you’re on. Whether you’re a student or intern find a mentor. The IT field grows stronger when we lift each other up. 💻🤝 #Mentorship #InformationTechnology #CareerGrowth #Learning #TechCommunity

Learning is Just the Start — Mastery Comes from Building In today’s world, knowing a technology isn’t enough. The real value lies in what you can build with it. I’ve often seen trainees focus on finishing a course, clearing a test, or getting placed. But that’s just the beginning. True learning starts when you move from studying concepts to solving real problems. You can memorize syntax, but mastery comes only when you practice, experiment, and productize your ideas. Build something — even if it’s small. Test it. Break it. Improve it. That’s how innovation is born. At Faircode, we encourage our trainees not just to learn — but to create, question, and think like builders. Because in this industry, success doesn’t come from how much you study — it comes from how much you apply. Don’t wait for opportunities. Build your own. Every great product once began as someone’s learning project. #LearningByDoing #TechCareers #ContinuousLearning #GrowthMindset #Faircode #ProductThinking #Innovation

Rethinking Training in the Tech Industry Training shouldn’t be a bridge to employment — it should be a foundation for mastery. Yet too often, people approach it like an extension of college: finish the syllabus, tick the boxes, move on. The truth is — training is not about getting ready for a job. It’s about getting ready for reality. Real training happens when: You stop studying and start building. You stop asking what to do and start figuring out why it matters. You fail, fix, and learn faster than you ever did before. A great training environment doesn’t just teach code or tools. It teaches ownership, curiosity, and the ability to connect technology with impact. Every trainee should walk out not just with skills — but with a mindset: “I can create something that matters.” At Faircode, that’s exactly what we aim for. Our trainees work on live projects, solve real business challenges, and learn by building products that matter. It’s not about learning tools — it’s about learning thinking. Every mistake becomes a lesson, every task becomes an experience, and every idea is encouraged to grow into something tangible. Because true training isn’t about finishing a course — it’s about beginning a journey. And the best learners are not those who memorize, but those who create. #LearningByDoing #CareerGrowth #TechTraining #Mindset #Leadership #Faircode
