Las Patronas held its 80th annual Jewel Ball on Aug. 8 at the La Jolla Beach & Tennis Club, with a theme of “Festa di Venezia.”
The idea was to “transport guests into an unforgettable evening while remaining deeply rooted in our purpose — raising funds that make a lasting difference,” said 2026 Jewel Ball chairwoman Jenny McGowan.
The theme was inspired by Venice, Italy, “from vibrant florals and candlelit ambiance to a thoughtfully curated culinary experience and music inspired by Vivaldi,” according to Las Patronas.
This year’s major beneficiaries will include the Alpha Project for homeless services, Canine Companions, Meals on Wheels San Diego County, National Marine Mammal Foundation, Promises2Kids, Sanford Burnham Prebys and Workshops for Warriors.
