Jan & Dean - New Girl In School

Back to grind after a nice 3 day weekend. Original b side to Dead Man's Curve. Later reissued on its' own.

Jan & Dean - A Surfer's Dream / Fiddle Around

How about a dreamy surf song...The A side (Fiddle Around) was a minor chart hit at #93 and was their last Billboard Top 100 hit. I've included it but not my fav from the duo. This was released after Jan's accident. The dreamy side was co-written by Jill Gibson, Jan's girlfriend. She has a 45 that is on my want list. The stock copy of this arrived last and was a nice upgrade from the beat up copy in my collection..thanks Jesse!

Jan & Dean - There's A Girl / My Heart Strings

I didn't get as much painting completed yesterday as I wanted as I had to repair one plaster wall. Guess that is the price to pay for a 125 year old farm house. Looks like I will be finishing up in the evenings this week as they new floors are installed in 7 days. No recording 45's this weekend so maybe next week. Good thing I have some in the bag. This 45 came from a collection I bought 15+ years ago. Jim apparently worked at a local radio station and I bought the collection from his son. Jim covered the promo label nicely.

Once I get the house back in order I plan to revisit some past posts and update with soundz...lets call it a refinishing project so if you have any requests for past posts that no longer are there make a comment

Jan & Dean - A Sunday Kind Of Love

Yesterdays song is now posted...I was rushing around yesterday morning and forgot the most important step- test the post...lol...I wish I could blame it on spring foward. I truly hate the March time change. I probably don't get enough sleep as it is and now I lose an hour.

I have been in a Jan & Dean mood lately and bought a cool book on them recently. I believe this was the first J&D Liberty 45. It barely dented the charts at #95.

Jan & Dean - Yellow Balloon

It has been bitter cold the last few days. So I felt the need for some sunshine pop. This Jan & Dean one off for Columbia records was really just Dean as Jan was still recovering from the auto accident. I read  that Gary Zekely so disliked this version he shopped it around. The Yellow Balloon version competed with this one and it won the battle of the charts as this one for J&D only bubbled under the top 100. But I do like this version alot. I've had the promo copy for years but stumbled on the stock copy within the last year

Jan & Dean - From All Over The World

Theme song from the T.A.M.I. show. This was not the most popular Jan & Dean song but I think it is catchy and it comes with a fantastic picture sleeve.

Jan & Dean Frosty The Snow Man

Surf meets snow. Actually this was pre surf Jan and Dean. They had some minor success when they switched over to Liberty but nothing that set the charts on fire. This certainly died a quick death in late 1962. Try to find a stock copy of this. This is easily one of their more difficult 45's out there.  Their next 45 [Linda] would start them on the road to hitsville

12/11/23- Listener request. Re-uploaded the song and also rescanned the 45 to include the very rare stock copy I scored after the original posting

Jan & Dean - Bucket "T"

Ok, so I've been a bit lazy with the uploads. I have a bunch I need to scan and record but I've been lazy with that as well. Hard to believe this is my first J&D upload
