OU: I was working at another neighborhood bar next store to Cicero's. I couldn't get off early enough to sneak next door for the show, but my D-6 did. Soundman did what he could as far as paying attention to the tape. The tape starts with Ti-Na-Ni-Na-Nu in progress and ends before the last song of the evening finishes (With a Girl Like You), but this is worth having if you're a Chilton fan.

Oh wow... this is huge. For such a renowned musician and legendary figure, Chilton boots have been maddeningly hard to come by in my experience. The last 2 you have posted have just made my day, Dave. Please keep them coming periodically if you can, because these are amazing. Thanks man!
p.s. everybody swoons over Big Star, which I dearly love, but the solo Chilton stuff is so, so great too. So thanks esp for posting solo Chilton, not just with Big Star. (Although the latter would be awesome too, or his reunion tour with the Box Tops for that matter)
Thanks for another Alex Chilton show.
Hopefully you will treat us to some Big Star in the future.
This is really, really good. I actually enjoy this period of Alex Chilton more than Big Star. (I risk being labeled a heretic, probably.) I can only think that the cult of Chilton was more vibrant later on than it was during the Big Star days. Of course, I could be wrong. Still, I am really liking this show, and I never quite got what all the fuss was about with Big Star.
