EYKON ICG Customer Symposium 2026 once again brought together utility customers, industry experts and partners from across the UK AMR electricity metering sector. Conversations focused on some of the most important challenges and opportunities facing the industry today, including managing growing volumes of data, ensuring reliable connectivity, improving power quality visibility, and preparing metering infrastructures for an increasingly dynamic energy system. We were delighted to welcome guest speakers from Elexon, BEAMA and Vodafone, who shared valuable perspectives on the evolving market landscape and the importance of collaboration across the industry. Attendees had the opportunity to take a deeper dive into EYKON's latest developments in metering, communications, data management and power quality monitoring, including our E570, E660 and E860 metering families, and explore how these capabilities help utilities improve visibility, operational performance and data quality across their networks. 👏 Sampling Procedure for the E220 Series 1 Meter Successfully Completed. A milestone we are truly proud of: After approximately seven years of intensive collaboration, we successfully completed the qualification procedure for sampling of the E220 meter type, then still known as Series 1.   The procedure was registered with the calibration authority in Thuringia back in 2019, at the time still under the name Landis+Gyr GmbH, now EYKON. The practical implementation was carried out in close, partnership based collaboration with TMZ Thüringer Mess und Zählerwesen Service GmbH and its state recognized testing laboratory. Throughout the entire period, the meters were operated in the field, monitored, and the results reported annually to the calibration authority, before the metrological final testing carried out by TMZ's testing laboratory brought the process to a successful conclusion.   The result is a positive certification for the completed qualification procedure, designated E_TH_19_3, in accordance with the VDE FNN guideline on qualification procedures for sampling inspection of electronic measuring devices for electricity, gas, water and thermal energy in its current version. This confirms that the E220, within the tested measuring range of Imax 60 amperes and accuracy class A, fully meets all requirements for a sampling inspection. Passing this qualification procedure is a prerequisite for the sampling procedure under Section 35 of the German Calibration Ordinance, known as MessEV, and for extending the calibration period by a full calibration cycle, meaning a further eight years. This is an important signal for all metering point operators relying on this proven meter.   The shared joy over the successful completion was made visible at the Zählerfachtagung in Teistungen. Yesterday, we had the pleasure of hosting our annual customer event in Western Switzerland, welcoming more than 50 customers for a day of industry insights, interesting exchanges and experience sharing. Together, we explored some of the key topics shaping the future of our industry, including regulatory and cybersecurity developments, data-driven grid operations and the growing role of analytics in supporting electrification and network resilience. A special thank you to Lucio Cocciantelli from Federal Office of Communications OFCOM and Gaëlle Séverine Rochat from Optimatik AG for their valuable guest presentations and contributions to the discussions throughout the day. In the afternoon, participants joined two interactive workshops focused on Grid Analytics as well as an exciting innovation that will further expand our portfolio in the coming months. The sessions sparked valuable discussions on how utilities can leverage data, technology and innovation to address future challenges.
