Each year we choose a project that will be supported with the funds collected from our Support tickets. This is the first year and we chose to work on poster restoration. The expert we will be working with for this delicate work, showed us in detail what the procedure of different damage restorations will look like.

The Heritage Tombola (Erfgoed Tombola / Tombola de Patrimoine) is a project organised by the National Lottery, Prométhéa, the Royal Institute for Cultural Heritage (KIK) and museumPASSmusées. Twelve finalists from across Belgium have the chance to have their special heritage project, one of historical, social or symbolic significance to Belgium, restored with a budget of up to €150,000. From the 15th of September, anyone can vote for their favourite project. Anyone who votes will also be automatically entered into the Tombola where they can win really unique prizes.

The restoration of Seagulls Dying in the Harbour has been selected for Cannes Classics 2026

There are films that mark history, and then there are those that transform it. In 1956, Seagulls Die in the Harbour (Meeuwen sterven in de haven) became the first Belgian feature film in history to be selected for the Official Competition at the Cannes Film Festival. In 2026, seventy years after that historic breakthrough, this cult masterpiece is set to return to the Croisette in a brand-new restoration by CINEMATEK.
