10 year veteran with over 100,000 edits. Reverts vandals, rehabilitates articles, fixes protection templates and, in general, cleans up the messes some editors make.
Hello to all at Wikipedia,
I live in Wheat Ridge, Colorado.
I joined Mar. 25, 2005. My interests include history, reading and, especially, British television and films.
In 1978 I saw Vincent Price in the one man play Diversions and Delights, written by John Gay. It was set in a Parisian theater and Price played an aging Oscar Wilde relating memories of his life and works. The performance was extraordinary and started a life long interest in Wilde. The last decade has seen an outpouring of interest in, and publications about, Oscar and the people in his life. I have read most of it. I have, also, done a fair amount of research about his visit to Leadville, Colorado, and been privileged to stand on the very stage where he spoke to the citizens of that mining boom town in 1882.
Update of Aug 10, 2006
Editing here has been a fun learning experience as I have both made mistakes and helped to improve (I hope) several articles in my 17 months here at wikip. I am proud to say that I have talked at least three friends into becoming contributors here. I came upon this userbox today and it seemed a perfect description of what I like doing here so I thought that I would add it to my page. One of my favorite wikignome projects is to take Award (Academy, Tony etc) links that are red and turn them blue by finding the way that they are phrased on their wikipages.
Articles started
Not many as others are better at it
I have finally taken the plunge and created a few articles on my own. They are mostly stubs about English actors and television shows. I hope that some of you wikipedians from the UK, and elsewhere, will add to, and improve, them when you have a chance.
I am quite proud to have received this and I hope to continue to help in any way I can here at wikiP:
The Original Barnstar

Hi, MarnetteD. You deserve this prize as much as anyone for your unfailing courtesy.
Our motto: "It's only hard if you make it hard"
The PENISS Prize
On behalf of the People Encouraging Niceness (and/or Eschewing Nastinesss) In Society Society, I hereby award you the PENISS Prize.
The prize is the highest (and sole) honour in the gift of the Society and is awarded irregularly, on merit. It entitles the awardee to the postnominal letters P.E.N.I.S.S. (in appropriate contexts, of course).
It confers automatic membership of the Society, and it thus bestows the power to award the prize to others*, and they to others, in perpetuity. .
Remember, the more PENISSes in the world, the better for all of us. What a nice thought. Please continue your good work!
* To present this award to others, simply type {{subst:User:JackofOz/PENISS}} on their talk page, and then sign and date your post.
Because each day you come here and offer your time and experience, leaving Wikipedia a little better than it was before. Jezebel'sPonyobons mots 17:39, 30 October 2013 (UTC)

For removing the protection icons from articles where protection has expired. Day after day, week after week, by hand. Your hard work in this minor but important matter is much appreciated. (P.S. Okay, so I don't always click the "thank" option on the numerous times you fix many of the rawlinks I can't fix using reflinks. I could. But I actually thought you might get irritated by dozens of thanks from me. But don't think I don't notice, and don't appreciate all that work you do. Gnomes like you make this project better. Kudos. Bravo. Well done old chap. Onel5969TT me 00:12, 13 October 2020 (UTC)

Creative 404 (et al) messages
Mostly for my enjoyment
While most dead link messages are dull there are some that have a creative and/or fun person in charge of making them. I've seen quite a few over the years and didn't think to record them. This rectifies thst.
