A fantastic evening in The Globe Irish Pub in Copenhagen as Ireland for Law hosted over 100 international legal practitioners and delegates dropping in during the International Bar Association conference, taking place in the city this week. We were delighted to welcome guests from Australia, the USA, Canada, the Netherlands, Denmark, the UK, the Bahamas, and of course a strong contingent from Ireland. Among our attendees were Ronan MacSweeney, President, The Law Society of NSW and Mark Borland, President, The Law Society of Northern Ireland. All coming together to discuss the growing advantages of choosing Irish law and Irish legal services as the premier English-speaking, common law jurisdiction in the EU. As cross-border disputes are becoming increasingly complex, and businesses are seeking newer arbitration venues, Ireland is well-positioned to play a larger role in international arbitration. Earlier this month, the AAA-ICDR and Arbitration Ireland hosted an event where arbitration leaders, in-house counsel, and members of the Irish judiciary explored why Ireland is gaining traction as a bridge between the United States and Europe.
