Today, Clean Creatives launched its sixth annual F-List, reporting on creative, advertising and PR agencies with documented relationships with fossil fuel companies. Advertising, PR and creative work can help fossil fuel companies shape public perception, manage reputations and maintain their social licence to operate. The bad news? It contains the highest number of contracts since the report began, including 299 agencies appearing on the list for the first time. The good news? There’s a proven path off the list. Our Blueprint to Phase Out Fossil Fuel Advertising maps a practical route for agencies to engage, direct and protect their businesses through the transition. 🔎 Search the F-List: f-list.cleancreatives.org 🔗 Download the blueprint: https://lnkd.in/eC4nHjhA #flist #adagency

Momentum is building behind fossil-fuel advertising bans. If you're an agency or media owner, our Blueprint shows how you can best respond 👇 More than 50 municipalities worldwide have now moved to restrict or ban fossil-fuel ads, with councils in the Netherlands and Scotland leading since 2020. The wave is growing fast, and has now reached Australia, with Onkaparinga Council the latest to act. For media owners and agencies working with fossil fuel clients, this isn’t a distant trend. It’s a structural shift. As these ads are phased out of public spaces, revenue models will need to evolve. Our Blueprint provides a clear, practical roadmap to navigate this transition: from responsibly phasing out fossil fuel clients to identifying replacement revenue and building internal alignment. 🚨Last month, Clean Creatives released Toxic Accounts - a new report analyzing over 1,850 pieces of campaign materials from 4 global oil majors, revealing that a new age of fossil fuel advertising has begun. The report demonstrates how narratives have shifted since oil and gas companies abandoned their transition façades made after the Paris Agreement and refocused on fossil fuel production and shareholder returns. As the times change, so do their tactics; from claimed "climate leadership" to asserting false fossil fuel dependence in an attempt to convince us we can't live without them. Read the report to understand exactly how their narratives are shifting: https://lnkd.in/eyA-7wET

Councils are under growing pressure to communicate climate action clearly and confidently, and UK100’s new Connect programme is designed to help. Their new network brings together elected members, climate leads and comms officers to strengthen how local climate action is communicated and delivered. Through expert-led sessions and peer learning, contributions from More in Common, Climate Outreach, Climate Barometer and our own Harriet Kingaby, participants will build practical skills to lead confident, effective community engagement on climate. Applications close Sunday 1 March, and it's free for paid UK100 members. If you work with councils take a look, because better climate communications means faster delivery of local climate action. Misinformation about renewables infrastructure is delaying important projects that will play a massive role in Brazil's energy transition. To tackle this problem, our campaign, in partnership with Potencializa Brasil, Profile, Social Docs and BRAZIL FIELD Market Research and Opinion Polls, engaged with local communities to talk about the opportunities and challenges associated with the introduction of new offshore wind turbines coming to Brazil. We spoke with respected, local community members to discuss the opportunities and challenges in their own words, and the importance of having accurate information. Then, we made their voices louder than the false narratives that delay action, with ads on radio, social media, out-of-home, and many more. The result was an engaging, relatable, and human campaign that weakened misinformation and boosted support for renewable infrastructure projects.

“If we cannot agree on basic facts and science then how will we come together to solve the big problems humanity faces?” ACT Climate Labs' Jake Dubbins sat down with Christiana Figueres, Paul Dickinson and Tom Rivett-Carnac OBE Carnac on Outrage + Optimism, The Climate Podcast to discuss. Together they unpack how fossil fuel advertising, opaque algorithms and the attention economy are shaping what we see, what spreads, and what stalls climate action.
