Championing a New Era of Mental Health

About us

Active Minds is the largest nonprofit in the United States mobilizing youth and young adults to transform mental health norms across society. For more than 20 years, we have equipped the next generation of peer mental health advocates through a variety of programs, including the Active Minds Chapter Network, A.S.K., and Send Silence Packing. Our advocacy, initiatives, and campaigns foster lasting change in how youth view and discuss mental health, encouraging them to use their voices to influence broader conversations and inform mental health supports within their communities. Together, we are building a diverse movement of champions committed to improving mental health for all.

Happy World Mental Health Day!! 🧠❤️🩹 Thank you, Dean Takahashi and GamesBeat, for the article! Wicked Saints Studios is proud to partner with Active Minds, Inc. and Wellious to launch the #ASKbetter challenge on World Reborn. Players learn about A.S.K –an amazing tool from Active Minds – and how to support mental health among those closest to them. Active Minds has over 500 local chapters in high schools and colleges across the US. World Reborn continues to feature the highly impactful in-real-life mental health activation with partners Crisis Text Line and Discord, #CrisisAverted. From article: "Previous mental health activation #CrisisAverted, powered by CrisisTextLine and Discord, has spurred positive feedback from players. Players have expressed that the game has built their confidence, helped them deal with mental health struggles, and encouraged them to believe in their power in a world that often feels out of control. One player privately reached out to the Wicked Saints team to share, 'Hey world reborn. I wanted to say your game has helped me with a lot of my mental issues like suicide and other things happening in my life. Tbh I see myself as one of the characters in the game and it helps me. Just. Thank you so much for helping me.'" We're super grateful to all of the partners who make this kind of impact possible. 10 years of purpose, impact and possibility.🧡 That’s what the Ulta Beauty Charitable Foundation is celebrating today. What started as a commitment to giving back has grown into a beautiful vision that a positive sense of well-being should be accessible and achievable to all. This year marks a decade of supporting programs, resources and experiences that empower the well-being of women and teens by helping them unleash their unique possibilities across all dimensions of their lives. With the support of the Ulta Beauty community, UBCF will reach nearly $100M in total donations to its 20+ nonprofit partners by the end of this fiscal year. We look forward to continuing our work alongside these leading organizations to foster healthy minds, bodies and communities for the individuals we serve together. Our heartfelt thanks to the millions of guests, thousands of associates, and hundreds of business partners for their generosity every step of the journey. We can’t wait to see what the next 10 years hold for the lives we uplift through UBCF and Ulta Beauty!

  • Nearly 1 in 2 Hispanic youth and young adults experiencing depression did not receive mental health treatment. This points to the importance of making mental health support easier to access, culturally responsive, and relevant to the lived experiences of Hispanic and Latino youth and young adults. Source: SAMHSA, 2023 National Survey on Drug Use and Health (NSDUH): Hispanic or Latino Population Ages 12 or Older There is strength in knowing we are not alone. For many Hispanic and Latino communities, connection can take many forms: the people we turn to, the traditions we carry, the stories we share, and the communities that remind us we belong. That same sense of connection can be an important part of caring for our mental health. Mental health support should meet Hispanic and Latino young people where they are. Turn to family, friends, mentors, faith leaders, or others in your community who make you feel supported and understood. Look for providers and resources that respect your culture, language, identity, and experiences. Your community and culture can be part of your mental health support. You don't have to wait until everything feels overwhelming to reach out. Asking for support is one way we can care for ourselves and each other. This Hispanic Heritage Month, we're celebrating the cultures, communities, and connections that remind us Unidos, Somos Más. • Hispanic Heritage Month is an opportunity to celebrate the many cultures, histories, traditions, and voices that make up Hispanic and Latino communities. Hispanic and Latino identities are as diverse as the people who carry them, shaped by countless cultures, histories, traditions, and experiences. Every story is a meaningful part of the larger story we share. For some, heritage is found in language, music, food, family, traditions, or history. For others, it may be something entirely their own. However you connect to your heritage, those parts of your life help shape who you are. Our stories, cultures, and traditions bring us together. Because Unidos, Somos Más. Explore resources: https://lnkd.in/e9Zbgdyx

  • National Coming Out Day means different things to different individuals. Some people find the experience of coming out liberating and an opportunity for celebration; others take their time, confiding in a select few, or choose not to come out at all. Some people have yet to identify with their true selves and others are fully aware of who they are, but are concerned about revealing this aspect of their lives to others. There is no set time frame for coming out, nor is there one "right" way to come out. Regardless of whether you come out to everybody, just a few people, or if you are currently questioning your identity, you remain a valid person. If you don't feel comfortable or safe disclosing your identity at this point in time, that also does not diminish your validity as an individual. Today is an opportunity to celebrate being authentic without feeling obligated to reveal any information before you are prepared to. Regardless of where you stand in terms of understanding your identity, you deserve respect, support and the ability to define yourself and live your truth. If you are exploring what coming out means for you, take the time you need and connect with support that feels safe and affirming.
