Hire Ava, the AI BDR

About us

Artisan builds AI employees. Ava, the AI BDR, runs the entire outbound motion autonomously: sourcing from 350M+ verified B2B contacts, enriching across 22+ data sources, writing personalized sequences, handling replies, and booking meetings directly into your reps' calendars. With Artisan 2.0, outbound stops being a stack of 8 disconnected tools and becomes one autonomous platform. Ava replaces ZoomInfo, Clay, Outreach, Instantly, your warmup tools, your dialer, and everything in between. Companies like CookUnity, SaaStr, and Quora already work with Ava to generate pipeline at a fraction of the cost of a traditional SDR team.

Our top AE just hit two years at Artisan. He celebrated by closing five deals in one day. $90k. He has never built a lead list. He has never written a sequence. He has never enrolled a single lead in a campaign. Ava the AI BDR does all of that autonomously for him. Here's what he does instead: - Keeps more hours open on his calendar than anyone, so he takes more meetings - Never ends a call without the next one booked, because deals go cold in the gap - Multi-threads in week one, so the deal doesn't die when one person goes quiet - Answers the hard technical question in the room instead of following up later Every hour he isn't building lists is an hour he's in front of a customer. Congrats James Hayes :)

Artisan has partnered with Explorium! Their company data now feeds the lead discovery layer behind Ava, our AI BDR, alongside our other data sources. For Ava, that means a wider set of companies to build lists from, more context on who she qualifies, and more to personalize on when she reaches out. Ava already runs outbound on behalf of thousands of reps. The data behind every decision she makes for them just got a lot stronger. Live in Artisan today: artisan.co

Today we're launching the next era of Artisan: 'be more human' For two years, our billboards said 'stop hiring humans' It generated billions of impressions and millions in ARR. It also got us death threats, a Bernie Sanders rant, and vandalized billboards. But the point was never fewer humans. It was to stop wasting them on work that was never human to begin with. So we built Ava the AI BDR to run it all autonomously: - Finds the right leads in your market - Acts on buying signals the moment they appear - Turns website visitors into warm outreach - Revives your closed-lost - Grows your existing accounts - Handles objections - Books qualified meetings So your reps get their time back for the things only humans can do, like cold calling, meeting prospects in person, and building the relationships that actually close deals. And with Ava, your best reps don't get replaced. They become more valuable. Hire Ava at artisan.co so your reps can be more human.

We're hiring a human BDR. Here's what that means at a company that builds an AI BDR: Artisan is built to be run centrally by one person rather than relying on each BDR to create campaigns, so there's no human capacity bottleneck. We call that role the GTM Architect. They set the signals, build the plays, and run campaigns on behalf of the AEs and BDRs. In our larger deployments that's one person running outbound for hundreds of reps. Meetings land on reps' calendars from campaigns going out autonomously under their name. That means our BDR won't build lists, write sequences, create campaigns or handle replies. Most of the traditional BDR job is automated, and the person we hire gets a LOT of time back. Here's where it goes: 1. 500+ cold dials a day on our native parallel dialer. The emails send from the AEs autonomously, the BDR executes the call steps. 2. Handling escalations on AEs' outbound. When Ava isn't sure how to answer a question or work an objection, she hands it to a human. 3. Selling in person at conferences, dinners and events. 4. Social selling. Building relationships in a way an AI BDR can't. 5. Calling inbound leads who abandon a demo booking, within minutes. 6. Documenting the whole thing and posting it here, for all of you. That's the job. It's more human and social than the pre-AI BDR role. And it's what I think the BDR role will evolve into at most companies in the next few years. We spent $2M telling the world to stop hiring humans. Today we're taking it back. And in even more shocking news: Artisan is hiring a human BDR. Two years ago we put those billboards up for a reason, and the reason still holds. Ava the AI BDR can do outreach better than most humans. But she can't legally cold call people. She can't go to a conference to meet prospects in-person. She can't be a human. So we built the tooling to enable humans. A dialer and a full toolkit for reps, inside Artisan. Your reps do the human work. Ava does everything else autonomously. Finding leads, signals, personalizing outreach, handling objections, booking meetings, etc. That's what the biggest teams on Artisan already do. One of them runs Ava alongside 1,000+ human reps. See what she'd do for your team: https://lnkd.in/g4NeYt8m We're proving out the super-BDR thesis ourselves. The BDR we hire will outperform most companies' entire BDR team, and I'll be posting the whole playbook here as it happens. Apply here: https://lnkd.in/gneS6Sid We're also giving away 100 "I ♥ humans" shirts. Claim one: https://lnkd.in/gdWAi-TZ Stop hiring humans generated billions of impressions and millions in ARR. But it's time for the next Era of Artisan. Next Monday we're launching our manifesto and new slogan. The future is humans and AI, not humans or AI.

~1.5 years ago, I joined Artisan to bet on an AI coworker named Ava... Since then, here's what we've been cooking: ➔ We launched Ava 2.0 in April. She's the best AI BDR in the world. She handles objections, qualifies prospects, and books calls right into your calendar. Just ask Jason M. Lemkin. ➔ I personally crossed $2.3M in ARR, putting me only behind our GOAT James Hayes on Artisan’s all-time leaderboard. ➔ Our Product and CS teams continue to inspire me. They are truly world-class. Product ships quality fast and CS delivers meaningful results, hence why our retention rates are higher than ever. ➔ Also, bringing on a few enterprise logos that many of us use every single day, and seeing thousands of their reps now benefiting from Ava. None of these wins happen alone. Special thanks to Walker Fitch, Jaspar Carmichael-Jack, Sam Stallings, Michael Catanzaro, and Chichen Michael Liu, CFA, for making it happen again and again for us. We’re also hiring. Interested in an open role or learning more about how Ava 2.0 can help make it happen for your sales team? Let me know. Happy Canada Day and July!! 🤠🇨🇦 #AI #AISDR #AVA #AE #GTM

Today we're launching CRM personalization with Ava, our AI BDR! Ava is now as context-aware as your best reps Ava will: - Connect to your Salesforce or HubSpot and read every note, deal, and interaction - Write re-engagement that references the actual history. Why they went quiet, what they cared about last time, what's changed since - Send autonomous outbound as the CRM account owner, from their own email address - Add dialer steps for your reps. Ava handles the emails and your reps make the calls (with our native dialer, or as tasks in Salesforce/HS) Agents are only as good as the context they act on. We see our best customers combining deal history + activity + third party signals. Not just a first line scraped off LinkedIn The warmest pipeline you have is already sitting in your CRM. Most of it goes stale because BDRs and AEs don't have time to personalize at scale Let Ava do it for them, autonomously We filmed a video explaining how it works below :) Customers like Informa and DoorDash are already re-engaging their pipeline with Ava Book a demo and see it live: https://lnkd.in/gxpBxTHg

A customer just told me they cancelled 4 SaaS contracts after onboarding Ava the AI BDR. ZoomInfo. Clay. Outreach. Aircall. Gone. A lot of people don't realize that Artisan doesn't just automate work, we also replace most of the GTM stack. Ava works alongside human SDRs & AEs in Artisan. They make calls and set up campaigns, she does everything else. This is the whole thesis. The modern outbound stack shouldn't be a stack. It should be one extraordinary product with agents automating work. Try it yourself free at artisan.co

Today, we're launching agentic personalization for Ava the AI BDR For the last few weeks I've been posting about why most personalization in cold email is broken "Congrats on the raise." Role flattery. A compliment glued to a pitch that would've been identical without it. We looked at 20M+ emails. That stuff doesn't work. Ava's new agentic personalization doesn't pull from a fixed list of data sources. It researches the open web the way a good rep would, and comes up with unique angles for every single lead. CFO at a public company? Ava will read what they actually said in their last earnings report and open with that. But the part I'm most excited about: you can build your own research agents. Tell Ava what signal matters to you, in plain English, and she goes and finds it. One of our customers in recruiting built an agent that checks whether a company has had a role sitting open on their careers page for more than 60 days. If it has, Ava opens with that. That's a fact the prospect can't argue with, that walks them straight into the problem you solve. The kind of opener that actually gets replies. And Ava is testing all of it in the background, continuously, learning which angles land and doubling down on what works. Live today. Try it at artisan.co
