Epirus is thrilled to announce that our Leonidas high-power microwave system has met the criteria for inclusion in the JIATF-401 Counter-UAS Marketplace, expanding access to our technology for eligible customers. As low-cost drones proliferate and evolve, this threat will outpace one-to-one interceptors and traditional EW, accelerating the increasing economic and logistic asymmetry. Our software-defined, low-collateral, HPM technology reverses this dynamic, delivering scalable, cost-effective, one-to-many effects designed to defeat multiple drones simultaneously, whether RF, fiber-optic or autonomously controlled. The JIATF-401 Marketplace provides a transparent pathway to put this capability into operators' hands faster, strengthening layered counter-UAS defense and helping protect our warfighters and critical assets.

⚡ Exclusive: Epirus secured an $18M contract increase with the US Army to adapt its drone-zapping high-powered microwave (HPM) system, Leonidas, for different vehicle platforms. The deal restructures a $43.5M contract awarded last year for two larger fixed-site units, bringing the total to $61.5M. 🔗 Read more from Barratt Dewey at the link in the comments

Epirus is excited to announce a new Cooperative Research and Development Agreement (CRADA) with the US Army DEVCOM Ground Vehicle Systems Center (GVSC). Together, we’ll explore how to scale and integrate high‑power microwave (HPM) technologies, based on our Leonidas platform, onto Army ground vehicles to strengthen formation‑level protection across the modern battlespace. As maneuver forces face increasingly complex, multi‑domain threats, the Army is prioritizing new approaches to layered defense, mobility, and survivability. This CRADA enables joint research to assess how mobile HPM solutions can deliver decisive electromagnetic effects at the Forward Line of Own Troops (FLOT), enhance protection for Soldiers, and expand tactical options for commanders. This collaboration represents a meaningful step toward advancing adaptable, scalable, and operationally relevant HPM capabilities for future maneuver operations.

The rapid expansion of autonomous drone activity demands defenses that can adapt just as quickly. Leonidas GV brings a new level of agility to counter‑UAS operations, combining Epirus’ software‑defined high‑power microwave system with the proven mobility of the General Dynamics Land Systems ground vehicle platform. With the ability to reposition, respond, and reestablish protection wherever it’s needed, Leonidas GV gives operators a flexible, non‑kinetic option for safeguarding critical assets. Its HPM technology defeats multiple autonomous threats simultaneously, delivering reliable point defense without overreliance on interceptors. See Leonidas GV in person at this year’s AUSA exposition. Epirus will be at the Walter E. Washington Convention this week from October 12–14 in Exhibit Hall A, Booth 442. Find the GV on display at GDLS Booth 703.

On October 5, the United States Department of War announced that Epirus’ Leonidas HPM system will take part in its directed energy pilot program. This program will help to establish Leonidas as a critical and safe advanced technology that protects U.S. airspace from the growing drone threat. Under the leadership of Joint Interagency Task Force 401 (JIATF‑401), and in coordination with the FAA, U.S. Northern Command, and other federal partners, Leonidas will undergo an operational assessment to inform the responsible employment of HPM systems in domestic airspace. Our goals: - Demonstrate how HPM will strengthen layered air defense. - Provide data that helps federal partners modernize policy and operational frameworks. - Ensure technologies like Leonidas are ready to protect U.S. installations, assets, and personnel from evolving drone and swarm threats. We’re grateful for the opportunity to collaborate with Department of War and JIATF‑401 as we continue advancing directed energy capabilities for a safer, more secure future. The future of air defense is open, connected, and layered. Epirus recently participated in the US Army's Operation JAILBREAK FALCON FURY, an effort designed to accelerate integration of Army and industry systems through open architectures. During the event, Leonidas demonstrated its ability to integrate sensors and high-power microwave systems within a broader command-and-control ecosystem, reinforcing a core principle behind Epirus’ approach to counter-UAS: no single technology can address every threat, and the best defense brings together sensors, command and control, and multiple effectors. As drone threats become more numerous and complex, interoperability gives operators greater flexibility to pair the right capability with the right threat and rapidly adapt as the mission changes. We’re proud to support the Army’s push toward more open, adaptable architectures and demonstrate how high-power microwave can fit into the layered air defenses of the future.

Swarm attacks pose a serious risk to civilian infrastructure, military assets, and any critical node that cannot afford disruption. Leonidas Ground Vehicle (GV) is an operational, mobile counter‑UAS solution designed to deliver scalable, non‑kinetic point defense for high‑value assets in both commercial and military environments. Integrated onto the General Dynamics Land Systems ground vehicle platform, Leonidas GV uses Epirus’ HPM technology to defeat autonomous drone incursions by neutralizing multiple threats at once, making it a powerful answer to the growing swarm threat. To learn more about how Leonidas GV addresses these challenges, visit Epirus at this year’s AUSA exposition. We’ll be at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center from October 12–14 in Exhibit Hall A, Booth 442. You can find Leonidas GV on display at GDLS booth 703.

Drone threats are accelerating faster than ever and at the U.S. Army's Scarlet Dragon 26-3 exercise, Epirus was brought in to keep pace. We joined the XVIII Airborne Corps’ counter‑UAS proving ground at Fort Bragg, where emerging tech gets pressure‑tested under real operational conditions. Over two weeks, Leonidas software was integrated with the Army’s layered sensor and C2 network and faced live red‑team UAS threats, including swarm scenarios modeled after modern battlefields. Our team fielded a DFT Sensor Tower and Manta AI-Assisted Sensing system, synced sensing and effectors in a dynamic environment, and demonstrated Leonidas’ full C2 functionality via an API now available in the Army API Marketplace. We supported swarm operations and proved system readiness through real‑world logistics and austere field conditions alongside Soldiers. Scarlet Dragon is where concepts become capability. Soldiers, the industry, AI‑driven systems, and resilient data pathways come together to tackle one of the Army’s most urgent challenges: detecting, tracking, and defeating unmanned aircraft threats at scale. Grateful to the XVIII Airborne Corps and exercise organizers for the opportunity to demonstrate how Leonidas fits into the Army’s integrated counter‑UAS architecture. This is what readiness looks like. Read more about the exercise from the Department of War: https://lnkd.in/epA7VvXf
