As a founder, I see how much of this impact comes from the businesses built on these platforms. Cloud and AI tools let small teams compete at a scale that wasn’t possible a decade ago. Great to see the ecosystem story told with data
Tech investments are usually measured by jobs or revenue, but the real multiplier is how much easier it makes it for local businesses to operate.
The contribution of over EUR 200 billion to the EU GDP in 2025 is a massive milestone. Seeing EUR 32 billion specifically driven by AI and Cloud highlights the rapid technological shift happening right now. This scale of growth empowers developers and tech agencies to build even better solutions.
An impressive demonstration of how technology can drive economic growth at scale. The impact across AI, cloud infrastructure, and digital skills development highlights the importance of investing in innovation while empowering people and businesses. Great to see Google contributing to Europe’s digital transformation!
The bigger story behind economic impact reports like this is how AI is becoming part of regional competitiveness. Access to technology matters, but sustainable growth comes when infrastructure, skills, trusted data, and business adoption advance together. For European organizations, the opportunity is not simply to consume AI capabilities. It is to redesign workflows, develop talent, strengthen governance, and translate AI investment into measurable productivity and customer value. The regions that lead the AI economy will be those that connect innovation with workforce readiness and responsible execution.
Impressive numbers. The split between products, AI and cloud, and infrastructure shows how technology investment spreads across the wider economy. Congratulations to the Google Europe team on 25 years.
Great report, very informative.
Economic impact at scale in the EU hinges less on macroeconomic policy and more on whether legacy enterprises can actually modernize their core infrastructure without breaking compliance. If regional tech investments are going to drive real GDP growth, the tooling needs to bridge the gap between strict data sovereignty and high-velocity cloud architecture. Otherwise, we are just subsidizing administrative overhead.
Google’s investment highlights the growing economic role of technology across Europe. Measuring contributions through jobs, infrastructure, and productivity helps demonstrate technology’s broader economic impact.
