    I could not be more excited about our Copilot announcement today and the next wave of innovation we will bring to our customers. https://lnkd.in/exq6UPDq Copilot was built to enable AI in the flow of human ambition. It has evolved from a chat assistant to the singular place to get uninterrupted work done. With Home, the convergence of Chat and Cowork, you can interact conversationally and create artifacts collaboratively. Code allows you to build AI solutions that help overcome obstacles to improve how you work. Autopilot acts autonomously to execute ongoing tasks, manage projects, and handle follow-up. We are also announcing Office in Copilot: Word, Excel and PowerPoint are now built into the experience. This all happens within the Copilot canvas, but the true differentiation and power of Copilot is derived from the Intelligence + Trust platforms upon which it sits. Microsoft IQ is the open, heterogeneous, model-diverse, intelligence platform that enables individual and organizational IQ to compound from within, protecting your IP so your unique value does not leak to improve models. Work IQ pulls from an individual’s gated M365 environment, and today we are announcing that Copilot can now access data from across your organization by connecting to Fabric IQ and Dynamics 365. A trust platform requires Observability, management, governance, and security of every agent and agentic process running across your technology stack to ensure you are seeing value and ROI. FinOps is critical here, and we are introducing new capabilities in Agent 365 and Copilot to manage model choice and cost for both user subscription licenses (USL) and usage-based billing (UBB), depending on the modality being used within Copilot.     The New Bottleneck The bottleneck is no longer intelligence. Over the last six months, intelligence has accelerated dramatically. But smarter models are not enough for everyone to benefit from novel intelligence. New form factors are required. GPT-3 needed Chat. Opus 4.5 needed Code and Cowork. Today, with Astra and Fable, we’re in a familiar position. Intelligence is advancing faster than it can reach people in useful forms. The model overhang is back. The new bottleneck is diffusion. Increased intelligence needs to translate to human progress. Microsoft’s mission is to empower every person and every organization to achieve more. If we fail to create new ways to utilize increased intelligence, this mission is at risk. The New Copilot Our next step is the new Copilot. Home, Code, and Autopilot. Home is your new starting point, unifying Chat and Cowork into a single experience. Ask a quick question or delegate a whole project. No need to decide where to start. Home also features Today, our new proactive view that spans Outlook, Teams, meetings, and tasks. Today doesn’t just flag things you missed; it moves work forward. The draft is already written, and the schedule change is already proposed. We’re also bringing Office into Copilot. For the first time, you don’t have to choose between AI editing and human collaboration. We’ve brought the full power of Word, Excel, and PowerPoint into Copilot, so you can create, edit, and collaborate with colleagues and Copilot at the same time. Next, Code is coming to Copilot. Models can write code but environments, hosting, and sharing get in the way. With Code, just describe an app, tracker or workflow in plain English. Code runs sandboxed on your machine or safely in your tenant in the cloud. Now, hosting and sharing an app is as easy as a Word document. Finally, Autopilot. Your digital teammate. Give it a name, an appearance, a role, and a goal. Your Autopilot has it’s own identity, memory, computer, and workspace. Autopilot is enterprise grade, with real permissions, audit, and governance, all from Agent365. It can monitor work, coordinate with your team, and keep projects running over weeks -- just tag it in a document, forward it an email, or message it on Teams! Home. Code. Autopilot.     We've long argued for a balanced approach to AI regulation. One that keeps humans in control. Since 2023, Microsoft has advocated for "safety brakes" or an “off switch" that keeps advanced AI systems under human control. And it should ensure that AI systems that control critical infrastructure and autonomous systems be run in secure cloud infrastructure with layered safeguards that provide additional intervention points as needed. Put simply, powerful AI systems should always remain under human control, including interruption, correction, and shutdown. This approach is tried and tested. In the 1850s, Elisha Otis’ demonstration of a safety brake at the World’s Fair helped earn the public’s trust – and made modern cities possible. We should adopt this principle for AI. If we do, AI can become a powerful tool for human progress. If we don't, a lack of public trust, not regulation, will become the limiting factor that slows AI adoption.     I've seen many periods of significant change over the course of my career. This moment feels different, not only because of how quickly AI is advancing, but because of the choices it asks leaders to make about how work changes and how people grow with it.   No organization has all the answers. What we can bring is a growth mindset: the willingness to experiment, learn from what doesn’t work, and keep adapting as the technology and our understanding of it evolves.   That’s why we committed to being Customer Zero. If we want to help customers realize the full value of AI, we need firsthand experience with the hard, deeply human work of transformation.   Today, we’re sharing more of that experience in Microsoft’s Frontier Playbook, drawing on hundreds of AI transformation efforts across the company. It includes what worked, where we failed, and how those lessons are changing the way we lead, build skills, and redesign work.   We’re still learning. But by sharing what we’ve learned so far, I hope we can help more organizations approach this moment with both ambition and humility, while creating a future in which technology helps people and organizations do more than they could before.
