I realized recently that I've been doing something for free for that I absolutely love doing… Mentoring people! 😂 Throughout my entire career, people have reached out asking for help with breaking into tech, Cloud, DevOps, certifications, interviews, career moves and sometimes just... "What the hell am I supposed to do next?" And if I could help, I'd usually hop on a call. Totally unstructured. Just, "Yeah, let's talk." Over the years, I've watched people I've helped pass certifications, land jobs, transition into tech, and advance in their careers. So I've decided to finally put some structure around something I've already been doing. I'm officially opening up 1:1 Tech Career Strategy and Certification Prep sessions. These are for people trying to figure out things like: Which certification actually makes sense for me? How do I break into Cloud or DevOps? I have certifications. Why am I still not getting interviews? What projects should I be building? What skills am I missing? How do I advance from where I am now? What's the most realistic path from where I am to where I want to be? Or simply... "Iman, I have no idea what I'm doing. Help." 😂 I've personally been there. I've navigated this industry myself, participated in programs and opportunities with Google, AWS, and Epic Games, and earned certifications across AWS, Google Cloud, and CompTIA. But a lot of what I know has also come from helping other people navigate this industry. And that's probably one of the biggest things I've learned: There isn't one perfect roadmap. I'm not here to tell you to copy my path. The whole point is figuring out yours. Sometimes you don't need another course, another certification or another YouTube video. Sometimes you need someone to take the time to sit down with you, look at where you are, understand where you're trying to go and help you figure out what actually makes sense for YOU. So that's what I'm offering. I'm opening a limited number of 1:1 sessions to start. If you want to work with me, you can view the available sessions, details and book a time here: https://lnkd.in/gyvKy3WF Because apparently I've finally learned that I can't keep telling everybody, "Yeah, let's hop on a call." 😂 #womenintech #blackintech #cloudengineer #devopsengineer #mentorship #certifications

One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned in IT is that professional growth requires more than finding time to learn. It requires learning how to manage responsibilities, prioritize effectively, and trust the right people with meaningful work. As a hardware refresh project approaches completion, I’ve been balancing project responsibilities with studying for my AWS Developer Associate certification and developing automation workflows for vulnerability management. A major part of that process has been recognizing the strengths and interests of hardworking Tier 1 team members and creating opportunities for them to take ownership of tasks that align with their abilities. Delegation isn’t just about getting work off your plate. It’s about developing people, improving team efficiency, and creating the capacity to focus on more complex technical challenges. I’m grateful to work alongside people who are willing to learn and contribute. Their growth creates opportunities for mine, and that’s something I want to continue building on as I move toward the next steps in my tech career. #InfrastructureAutomation #CloudEngineering #TechnicalLeadership #ITCareer

𝗜𝘀 𝗻𝗼𝘄 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗿𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝘀𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗰𝗵 𝘁𝗼 𝗔𝗜 𝗼𝗿 𝗗𝗲𝘃𝗢𝗽𝘀? Honestly, I think that’s the wrong question. If you’ve been thinking about switching into tech, you’ve probably asked yourself this at some point. “I𝘀 𝗶𝘁 𝘁𝗼𝗼 𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗲?” “I𝘀 𝗔𝗜 𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗵 𝗴𝗲𝘁𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗼?” “𝗦𝗵𝗼𝘂𝗹𝗱 𝗜 𝗷𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝘄𝗮𝗶𝘁 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘀𝗲𝗲 𝘄𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗵𝗮𝗽𝗽𝗲𝗻𝘀? I get it. Nobody wants to spend months learning something only to realise they picked the wrong path. But I wouldn't make the decision based on whether “now” feels like the perfect time. I’d ask: 𝗜𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗮 𝘀𝗸𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝗽𝗲𝗼𝗽𝗹𝗲 𝗮𝗰𝘁𝘂𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆 𝗻𝗲𝗲𝗱? D𝗼 𝗜 𝘀𝗲𝗲 𝗺𝘆𝘀𝗲𝗹𝗳 𝗱𝗼𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗱 𝗼𝗳 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸? W𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘄𝗼𝘂𝗹𝗱 𝗜 𝗻𝗲𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗼 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗻 𝘁𝗼 𝗯𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗲 𝗴𝗼𝗼𝗱 𝗮𝘁 𝗶𝘁? A𝗻𝗱 𝗰𝗮𝗻 𝗜 𝗮𝗰𝘁𝘂𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝘃𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗜 𝗰𝗮𝗻 𝗱𝗼 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸? Because the goal isn't to say: “I 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸 𝗶𝗻 𝗔𝗜.” It's to actually be able to 𝗱𝗼 𝘀𝗼𝗺𝗲𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘂𝘀𝗲𝗳𝘂𝗹 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗔𝗜. Same with DevOps. And if you're coming from a completely different background, that doesn't automatically mean you can't make the switch either. You may just need to be honest about the gap between 𝘄𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗻𝗼𝘄 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘄𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝘄𝗮𝗻𝘁 𝘁𝗼 𝗯𝗲 then start closing it. That's really how I'd approach any career switch. Don't chase the trend. 𝗨𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗼𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆. U𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿𝘀𝗲𝗹𝗳. L𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘀𝗸𝗶𝗹𝗹. B𝘂𝗶𝗹𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗼𝗳. Then make your move. So instead of asking: “I𝘀 𝗻𝗼𝘄 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗿𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗲?” Maybe ask: “W𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘄𝗼𝘂𝗹𝗱 𝗵𝗮𝗽𝗽𝗲𝗻 𝗶𝗳 𝗜 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗽𝗿𝗲𝗽𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗻𝗼𝘄?” That might be a much better question.

You grow by doing things that you aren't qualified to do yet. Stop telling yourself you are not qualified enough. This hit different when I read it. Because I spent months convincing myself I wasn't ready. "I need to finish this course first." "I should learn one more tool." "I'm not qualified enough for that role." All lies. Here's what I learnt the hard way: 𝗬𝗼𝘂 𝗱𝗼𝗻'𝘁 𝗴𝗲𝘁 𝗾𝘂𝗮𝗹𝗶𝗳𝗶𝗲𝗱 𝗯𝘆 𝘀𝘁𝘂𝗱𝘆𝗶𝗻𝗴. 𝗬𝗼𝘂 𝗴𝗲𝘁 𝗾𝘂𝗮𝗹𝗶𝗳𝗶𝗲𝗱 𝗯𝘆 𝗱𝗼𝗶𝗻𝗴. I applied for my first DevOps role when I "wasn't ready." I built projects I had no idea how to build. I answered questions I didn't know the answers to (then figured them out). Every single time I felt unqualified, I grew the most. The job descriptions asking for 5 years of experience? The projects that seem too complex? The skills you think you need before you start? 𝗡𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗺𝗮𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗮𝘀 𝗺𝘂𝗰𝗵 𝗮𝘀 𝗷𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴. If you're waiting to feel "qualified enough," you'll wait forever. The people who break through aren't more talented. They're just willing to be uncomfortable for longer. Start before you're ready. Apply before you're perfect. Build before you know how. That's how you actually grow. #Growth #CareerAdvice #Mindset #ImposterSyndrome #BreakingIntoTech #DataCareers #DevOps #LearningJourney #Motivation #TechCareers

With the authority granted to me by LinkedIn, I’m launching a series of posts called “The Mentor Talk” (working title, for now). 🥁 With these I’d like to share some of the most interesting and debatable topics from the conversations during mentoring sessions, that might be interesting or useful to anyone. I’ll start from the basics. Today’s topic: “2026 IT job market: the good, the bad and the in-demand roles.” Having worked across several tech roles over the past 8 years, I’ve always found it fascinating to watch how different roles and hiring trends evolve over time: new skills emerge, responsibilities expand, the boundaries between some roles disappear, while in other cases, become more pronounced. Respectively, when we were analyzing in-demand trends together with mentees, it was interesting to see how quickly the priorities changed over the past few years - in some cases, even over the past few months. AI adoption, cybersecurity threats and infrastructure modernization were, of course, some of the main forces driving changes in the IT job market recently - keep that in mind if you are looking for a transition or simply interested in a career growth. Here comes the list (of the top-5, but there’re more, obviously); 💻 AI/ML Engineers - professionals who design, deploy, maintain models that support automation, analytics and product innovation. & 💻 Data Engineers - these who design and manage data systems, including databases and pipelines, making sure data is scalable, efficient, secure. 💻 Software Engineers. Heroes of all times, who build and maintain the applications behind digital products and internal systems. The demand is particularly strong for engineers who can integrate AI-driven features into their work. 💻 Cybersecurity Engineers. As cyber risks continue to grow, companies are investing more in cybersecurity engineering to strengthen their defenses and reduce exposure, especially as AI adoption creates new potential threats. 💻 DevOps Engineers - specialists who maintain development by automating workflows, and help development / operational / security teams work together more efficiently. 💻 IT Product Managers - the ones who scare, I mean, surprise you with ambitious roadmap ideas, feature requests and questions about status, deadlines and progress. Sometimes all at once. In more professional terms: the people who connect business goals, customer needs, and technical possibilities; define what should be built and why; prioritize initiatives, align stakeholders, manage risks. Behind every role, there’s a lot more going on, of course. Companies and employers are prioritizing skills that keep systems secure, while pushing AI and data initiatives. At the same time, as AI becomes part of more and more day-to-day work, soft skills remain just as important as ever, not less. But those insights? They probably deserve a post of their own. 😏 #career #itjobs #tech #mentoring #ai

🌟 From Non-IT Background to IT Career: AWS DevOps Can Be Your Bridge🌟 Coming from a non-IT background doesn’t mean you cannot build a successful career in technology. As a Learning Coordinator, I often meet graduates who say: ❌ “I’m from a non-technical degree.” ❌ “I don’t have coding experience.” ❌ “Can I really enter the IT industry?” My answer is: **Yes — with the right learning path, consistency, and practical exposure.** ☁️ **Why consider an AWS DevOps course?** An industry-focused AWS DevOps learning journey can help you: 🔹 Understand cloud computing and AWS fundamentals 🔹 Learn Linux, Git, CI/CD, Docker and Kubernetes 🔹 Understand how applications are deployed and managed 🔹 Gain hands-on experience through real-world projects 🔹 Build technical confidence step by step 🔹 Prepare for entry-level Cloud & DevOps opportunities You don't need to know everything on Day 1. What matters is having a **structured roadmap + practical learning + continuous practice.** 🎯Your degree may define where you started. Your skills can define where you go next. If you are a graduate from a non-IT background and planning to transition into IT, start by understanding your career goal and choose a learning path that builds skills—not just certificates. As a Learning Coordinator, my goal is to help aspiring professionals understand **what to learn, why to learn it, and how to build a career roadmap.** 🚀Your IT career can start with one decision to learn. #AWS #DevOps #CloudComputing #CareerTransition #NonITtoIT #ITCareer #CloudCareer #DevOpsCareer #LearningAndDevelopment #CareerGuidance

Not everyone looking for a job is unhappy with their current job. Over the last few weeks, I've been speaking with several DevOps and Cloud professionals on LinkedIn. One thing surprised me. Some are actively looking for a change. But when I ask “Why?”, the answer isn't always: ❌ Bad company ❌ Bad manager ❌ Low salary Sometimes it's simply: “I want a better learning curve.” That got me thinking. For experienced IT professionals, career growth isn't always about escaping a bad situation. Sometimes it's about asking: → Am I still learning? → Am I getting deeper into Kubernetes, Cloud, automation and architecture? → Is my next role going to make me technically stronger? → Can I handle real production problems, not just follow existing processes? → Am I moving toward the kind of engineer I want to become? And I think this is an important conversation for anyone with 4+ years of experience. Don't change jobs just because you found another job. Change when the next opportunity gives you a meaningful reason to grow. I'm continuing these conversations with DevOps/Cloud professionals to understand what they're actually struggling with in their careers. What's the biggest reason you'd consider changing your current role? #DevOps #CloudComputing #CareerGrowth #Kubernetes #ITCareers #DevOpsEngineers

𝐁𝐞𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐪𝐮𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐟𝐢𝐞𝐝 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐚 𝐣𝐨𝐛 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐛𝐞𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐣𝐨𝐛-𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐲 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐧𝐨𝐭 𝐚𝐥𝐰𝐚𝐲𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐬𝐚𝐦𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠. A candidate may know the concepts. They may have completed the certification. They may have watched the courses. They may even be able to explain the technology well. But when asked: 𝐂𝐚𝐧 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐮𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐲 𝐮𝐬𝐞 𝐢𝐭 𝐭𝐨 𝐬𝐨𝐥𝐯𝐞 𝐚 𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐥 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐛𝐥𝐞𝐦? That is where the difference begins! Consider a DevOps professional: Knowing what Docker is useful for? It can be answered by anyone who gets ready on it. 𝐁𝐮𝐢𝐥𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚 𝐂𝐈/𝐂𝐃 𝐩𝐢𝐩𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐞, 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚𝐧 𝐚𝐩𝐩𝐥𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧, 𝐝𝐞𝐩𝐥𝐨𝐲𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐢𝐭 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐭𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐛𝐥𝐞𝐬𝐡𝐨𝐨𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐢𝐭 𝐢𝐬 𝐰𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐦𝐚𝐤𝐞𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐤𝐧𝐨𝐰𝐥𝐞𝐝𝐠𝐞 𝐮𝐬𝐞𝐟𝐮𝐥. The same principle applies across technology: 𝐀𝐖𝐒 → Can you design or troubleshoot something on it? 𝐒𝐀𝐏 → Can you explain the business process and your contribution to the project? 𝐃𝐚𝐭𝐚 𝐄𝐧𝐠𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 → Can you build and optimise a pipeline? 𝐀𝐈 → Can you apply it to a real business or engineering problem? 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐦𝐚𝐫𝐤𝐞𝐭 𝐢𝐬 𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐝𝐮𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐲 𝐦𝐨𝐯𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦 “𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐝𝐨 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐤𝐧𝐨𝐰?” 𝐭𝐨 “𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐜𝐚𝐧 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐝𝐨 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐰𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐤𝐧𝐨𝐰?” That is an important lesson for candidates. 𝐃𝐨𝐧’𝐭 𝐣𝐮𝐬𝐭 𝐜𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐜𝐭 𝐬𝐤𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐬. 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐦 𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐨 𝐞𝐯𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞. Build something. Solve something. Document something. Improve something. Because the strongest answer to “Do you know this skill?” is not: “Yes, I learned it.” It is: “𝐘𝐞𝐬. 𝐇𝐞𝐫𝐞’𝐬 𝐰𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐈 𝐝𝐢𝐝 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐢𝐭.” 𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐝𝐨 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐤 𝐦𝐚𝐤𝐞𝐬 𝐚 𝐜𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐝𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐭𝐫𝐮𝐥𝐲 “𝐣𝐨𝐛-𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐲” 𝐭𝐨𝐝𝐚𝐲? #CorexaInfotech #CareerGrowth #TechCareers #ITJobs #TalentAcquisition #Recruitment #TechHiring #SkillsDevelopment #FutureOfWork #JobReadiness #JobSeekers #ITJobSeekers #Freshers

There's something really grounded about recognizing you can't scale yourself by just saying yes to everyone, and instead scaling by helping people figure out their own path rather than copy yours. That's the kind of mentorship that actually sticks.
