Just concluded our Cambridge Judge Group Consulting Project at Cambridge Judge Business School as part of our Master in Finance programme working for our client Green Investment Partners. My work focused on providing an investment review and reccomendation on Ørsted and the fast-moving renewable energy sector. Honestly, it's been one of the most thought-provoking pieces of work I've done in a while. Ørsted's story is genuinely compelling. A company that transformed itself from a traditional, carbon-heavy utility into the world's leading offshore wind developer. That kind of shift doesn't happen by accident. It takes vision, real discipline around capital, and a leadership team willing to bet on a long-term thesis when it would have been easier not to. As an investment professional, I find that kind of conviction both admirable and instructive. However, the project also pushed me to sit with Ørsted's more recent difficulties including project delays, cost pressures, supply chain headaches, tough capital allocation calls and recent management renewal. These aren't footnotes, they're the part of the story that actually tests whether a business model holds up under pressure. And I think they're just as valuable to understand as the headline successes. Adaptability and risk management aren't buzzwords, they're what separates the companies that endure from the ones that don't! What made this experience particularly special was working alongside Fabian Leonhardt and Joshua Cole, CFA from Green Investment Partners. Their sharp insights and candour were truly refreshing, and they genuinely pushed our thinking rather than just nodding along. That kind of partnership is harder to find, and I'm grateful for it. I'm equally grateful to my teammates Abhilash Ravi, Takao Hattori, Manning Wu and Blaire Huang. You are some of the sharpest, and most dedicated professionals I have worked with and it was a real pleasure to work you on this assignment. The quality of our conversations and the collective commitment to doing the work properly made this genuinely enjoyable, not just professionally rewarding. Carrying a lot away from this one. The intersection of investment and sustainability continues to be one of the most interesting spaces to be working in right now. #RenewableEnergy #Investing #Sustainability #Ørsted #OffshoreWind

Sometimes, the right environment doesn’t just motivate you, it pushes you to set your own challenge. 💻 📈 Over the past few weeks, I had the opportunity to work with British International Investment (BII) on a project focused on quantifying risk for an impact investor where I majorly worked on benchmarking risk and return across geographies & products along with improving the measurement of risk-adjusted returns. Navigating the gaps, improvising it and trying to build meaningful insights around it was both challenging and incredibly exciting. What made this experience truly special was the collaboration, constant feedback, being pushed to think deeper, and learning how to approach problems the way practitioners actually do in the real world. I’m extremely grateful to the team at BII, specially Matt Sinnett Swetha Balachandran Michael Melluso, CAIA Deeptha Venkatanarayanan Christopher Dartsmith for their guidance, patience, and for pushing us to think beyond the obvious. Really happy that Cambridge Master of Finance (MFin) and Cambridge Judge Business School inculcates projects like these in the course curriculum. Also thankful to my incredible teammates especially Neha Nagaraj for the late nights, debates, and for making this journey enjoyable. Feeling very grateful for the learning, and hoping this is just the beginning of working on many more such impactful problems. #Grateful #Learning #Finance #ImpactInvesting #PrivateEquity #Cambridge #BII #project #britishinernationalinvestment #uk #privatemarket #benchmarking #project #impact #investing #benchmarkingreturns #riskadjustedreturns #mfin #cambridgemfin #cambridge #judgebusinessschool

Over the past few months, I’ve had the opportunity to work with the Cambridge Centre for Alternative Finance at Cambridge Judge Business School on a global initiative focused on advancing thinking around AI in financial services. AI is transforming financial services globally changing how institutions operate, how risks are assessed, and how regulation evolves. As adoption accelerates, there’s a growing need for a shared, evidence-based view across industry and policymakers to better understand both the opportunities and the risks, and to build systems that support innovation while maintaining stability. On 28 April 2026, CCAF, the Cambridge Digital Innovation and Regulation Initiative, and partners will host a live session to launch the AI in Financial Services 2026 Global Report a comprehensive study drawing on insights from: 350+ fintechs and financial institutions 140+ AI vendors 130 central banks and financial authorities Register here:https://lnkd.in/eHkCgFgb The session will feature leading voices including Agustin Carstens, Drew Propson, Jon Frost, Harish Natarajan, Gillian Tett, Mike Vessey, Kieran Garvey, and Bryan Zhang. Grateful to be part of a collaboration that brings together institutions such as the Bank for International Settlements – BIS, International Monetary Fund, World Economic Forum, Inter-American Development Bank, CGAP, Arab Monetary Fund, Financial Innovation for Impact (Fii), and Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office Alexander Apostolides Felipe Ferri Paes krishnamurthy S Benedicte N. Nos alegra ver a Sebastián Padilla compartiendo su trayectoria en energía renovable e infraestructura desde Ecuador, como parte de este panel de Cambridge Master of Finance (MFin).👨🏻🎓 Historias como esta reflejan cómo la transición energética también se construye con visión financiera, estrategia y liderazgo.☀️⚡️

Yesterday we hosted a live panel with three of our alumni, exploring what actually happens to your career once you add the Cambridge MFin into the mix. Our panellists: Natalie Kovalchuk – now in business operations & strategy at a Series C tech company, after roles in trading, investment banking, growth equity and fintech. Pablo López Navarro – Senior Associate in corporate transformation & financial restructuring in London, who used the MFin to move country, team and seniority. Sebastián Padilla – CFO in renewable energy & infrastructure in Ecuador, who moved from development banking to the equity side of energy and infrastructure projects. Key takeaways from their journeys: Career change is realistic: all three have moved across sectors, geographies or functions since the MFin. Mindset and soft skills matter: adaptability, resilience, optimism and stakeholder management have been just as important as technical skills. Use the year intentionally: from electives in VC, PE, infrastructure and investment management to headhunters, Careers support and the wider Cambridge network, what you put in is what you get out. Cambridge is more than the classroom: rowing, formals, college life and cross-disciplinary conversations all shaped their experience and opened unexpected doors. For anyone considering the Cambridge Master of Finance, their message was clear: it is an intense year, but it can be genuinely career-changing if you fully engage with the opportunities on offer. A massive thank you goes out to our panellists for sharing their insights and for the attendees who came to the event. Grateful to the Cambridge Master of Finance (MFin) team for capturing this journey. This experience has been one of the most challenging and rewarding of my life, stepping back into classes after years in commercial and corporate banking, building something new around infrastructure and climate, and finding a cohort that pushes you to think bigger. Can't wait to star Easter term !

In our new blog, Alejandro reflects on: ✅️ Joining an MFin cohort representing 38+ nationalities and diverse sectors. ✅️ Adapting from corporate life back to academic intensity, from core finance courses to long days in the library. ✅️ Building a community around climate, energy and infrastructure, including co‑leading the Infrastructure Society and engaging with development banks and infrastructure funds. ✅️ Applying learning through the Group Consulting Project, self‑sourcing a project with a leading Asian development bank. ✅️ How the Cambridge MFin has sharpened his technical skills and clarified his purpose, as he aims to build a career in infrastructure and development finance supporting the energy transition and sustainable progress across Latin America.
