Last month, we were delighted to welcome Stewart Langdon, Partner at LeapFrog Investments Investments, for a series of 1:1 coffee chats with our students. Stewart shared perspectives on a rapidly evolving market shaped by global volatility and AI-driven disruption. While opportunities remain, the landscape is becoming more competitive, with uneven trends across sectors - from declining consulting and accounting hiring (outside #AI) to reduced private equity and venture capital activity, and relatively stable investment banking demand. Two messages stood out: “Make your application stand out” and “Use your network” Simple advice, but essential in a competitive market. Thank you to Stewart for his time and generosity in supporting our students. Our coffee chats offer a valuable way for organisations to connect with Cambridge Judge talent and strengthen engagement with our student community. This week, as part of the our Careers Executive Wednesdays series, we heard from Dean Curran, Executive MBA programmes at Cambridge (2019) alum, about his serendipitous route into Entrepreneurship Through Acquisition (#ETA) via Novastone Capital Advisors (NCA). Dean had always dreamed of running his own company and, by chance, came across Novastone’s programme for entrepreneurial leaders. The opportunity was too good to miss. A few years later, Dean is now #CEO of two companies. What he enjoys most about this new chapter is working with people, solving business challenges and, of course, not having a boss. A huge thank you to Daniel Gärtner and Greta A. for joining us and explaining how NCA helps #SMEs tackle their legacy challenges by bringing in fresh leadership to run good businesses. Novastone operates in a brilliant niche, connecting investors with unique opportunities while helping SMEs transition to capable operators ready to take over the reins. #CJBSCareers #Entrepreneurship #Leadership Sadia Cuthbert | Cambridge Judge Business School

On Wednesday 25 February, Cambridge Judge Business School Careers hosted our termly Tech Showcase. We welcomed a dozen brilliant people representing a dozen exciting companies and projects. Sara Coupe | Pilar Recarte Pérez | Jeremy Sosabowski, PhD | Stephanie Richards | Esteban Almada Gomez | Dhinesh Muthuvel | Valeria Amoroso | Joseph K. | John Monks | Saurav Chakraborty | Lindsey E. Powers, MBA | Nick Wigdahl | Alex Blomstedt After some dazzling introductions - a half-hour sampling of some of the UK's most interesting enterprise stories - future collaborators conversed in an atmosphere of warmth and conviviality not often seen in this type of event, not even deterred by our signature buffet of frozen halloumi fingers. The event was officially closing at 20:00, but we almost had to physically separate interlocutors around 21:00 - the conversation would simply not run out. Thank you to everyone who attended and helped make the evening such an engaging and enjoyable event. Let's see what fascinating projects spring from that single evening at Tech Showcase!
