About us
Everyone’s Invited’s mission is to expose and eradicate rape culture with empathy, compassion, and understanding. We are a safe place for all survivors, regardless of identified gender or orientation to share their stories completely anonymously. Conversations with friends and personal experience throughout school and university revealed to founder Soma Sara how widespread the issue is and she began sharing her experiences of rape culture on Instagram. In light of the overwhelming response from those that resonated with her story, Soma founded Everyone’s Invited in June 2020 (it later gained charitable status in 2022). Through the publication of submissions, we have sparked a conversation about rape culture with millions of people.

An amazing morning supporting Make It Mandatory and Killed Women (KW) Alistair Strathern MP on their Private Members Bill that would make RSE mandatory until the age of 18. Currently a legal loophole stands between young people and receiving this critical relationship and sex education. As our student advisory board members Caitlin and Eni put so brilliantly: “how is it that this education isn’t available at the very moment we start to have serious relationships?!”👏🏽 Back the bill - all it takes is one click to get in contact with your MP https://lnkd.in/eWdY3Tjt 💥
Hi Network! 👋 Today I had the amazing opportunity, as part of the Student Advisory Board for Everyone's Invited , to help support the bill to make Relationship and Sexual Education (RSE) mandatory until the age of 18. Killed Women and Make it Mandatory have partnered to publish the Unofficial Curriculum. This is a textbook that is hoped to be introduced in schools to reveal the harmful content that can be spread when RSE ends at 16. I strongly believe that Relationships and Sex Education (RSE) should continue to be taught throughout secondary education, including for students aged 16–18. For many young people, this is a period when they begin to explore their independence, develop their identity and enter romantic relationships. Having experienced a relationship during this age range that negatively impacted my mental health, I feel particularly strongly about ensuring young people have access to the education and support they need. At 16, many students finish their GCSEs and transition into sixth form, college or employment. These changes bring new experiences, relationships and challenges. However, with the growing influence of AI, pornography and rape culture, particularly across social media, young people need to be equipped to recognise unhealthy relationship dynamics, including manipulation, coercive control and physical abuse. RSE must go beyond physical health and consent. It should teach young people to recognise the signs of abuse, understand what healthy relationships look like, establish personal boundaries and know where to turn for help when something is wrong. While concerns may be raised about whether young people aged 16–18 would attend such sessions, I believe this reinforces the importance of making RSE accessible and a consistent part of education throughout these years. However, making RSE mandatory is only part of the solution. We must also create safe, supportive environments in which students feel comfortable discussing their experiences, asking difficult questions and seeking help without fear of judgement. Education should not stop at 16 when the need for it does not. Young people deserve the knowledge, confidence and support to build healthy relationships and recognise when something is not right. If you wish to support such bill, please email your local MP on the 4th December at https://lnkd.in/ed8vASfP #RSE #Education #HealthyRelationships #Safeguarding #YouthAdvocacy

Reflecting on a fantastic week at Sexual Violence Research Initiative (SVRI) in Bangkok. It was amazing to be surrounded by such innovative researchers, practitioners and activists, all sharing their knowledge and expertise on preventing sexual violence. Last Thursday Soma Sara MBE spoke on a panel chaired by Bally Sappal on Understanding Digital Pathways to Sexual Violence: Evidence for Prevention. Soma shared insights on moving survivor voices towards systemic change, reflecting on collective action and the need for prevention that reflects the lived experiences of survivors and young people. Knowledge sharing and coalition building is so valuable if we are to build a world free from gender-based violence. It was wonderful to connect with partners across the field Oak Foundation Kering Foundation To Zero Internet Watch Foundation (IWF) Secrets Worth Sharing Teach Us Consent Human Trafficking Institute Our Wave Equimundo: Center for Masculinities and Social Justice Panorama Global Protect Children Safe Futures Together for Girls to name but a few! This work can be heavy but we left feeling energised and optimistic. Thank you Sexual Violence Research Initiative (SVRI) 💙

Really proud to have researched, written, and delivered the Everyone's Invited Train the Trainer programme. Empowering safeguarding leads to train teachers in their own schools in how to tackle misogyny and encourage a school culture of digital literacy and open conversation. It’s already got funding across the UK and will hopefully reach thousands of teachers in schools all over the country. Big thanks to Sandipan ChowdhurySandipan Chowdhury, Alexandra SomersAlexandra Somers and Talisker Alcobia Cornford for your help across the project.
As part of our violence prevention education programme in Tower Hamlets, funded by the Caring Family Foundation, we ran our first train-the-trainer CPD workshop for teachers! A huge thank you to our wonderful partner schools in Tower Hamlets, and Tower Hamlets council. Matty Hill Everyone's Invited Talisker Alcobia Cornford Sandipan Chowdhury

It was a real pleasure and privilege to chair the inspiring panel on Understanding Digital Pathways to Sexual Violence: Evidence for Prevention at #SVRIForum2026 in Bangkok. A fascinating session exploring how sexual violence and child sexual exploitation and abuse are enabled and sustained in digital spaces, and where we can intervene to prevent harm. Six excellent speakers brought different but interconnected perspectives: 🔹 Soma Sara MBE – Survivor testimony as a driver of accountability and systemic change. 🔹 Andrea Varrella – How stigma and shame enable and sustain technology-facilitated child sexual exploitation and abuse. 🔹 Lea Kamitz – Digital offending trajectories and deterrence on the Dark Web. 🔹 Dr Jennifer Johnson– Pornography's relationship to gender-based violence and perpetrator behaviours. 🔹 Anna Ovaska – How the digital ecosystem shapes perpetration of child sexual abuse material. Huge congratulations to Anna on winning the SVRI Forum 2026 - Best Young Oral Presenter Award! 👏The common thread? Understanding survivor experiences, stigma and shame, perpetrator behaviours and the systems that enable harm is critical to intervening earlier and more effectively. This strongly resonates with our work at WeProtect Global Alliance where prevention is central to our latest Global Threat Assessment and Prevention Framework. Do take a look: https://lnkd.in/emUpf7Yx A huge thank you to our brilliant speakers and everyone who contributed to the discussion, and especially to the Sexual Violence Research Initiative (SVRI) and #Safe FuturesHub teams for such a wonderful Forum. A fantastic week of learning, reconnecting and making new connections! Technology-facilitated Child Sexual Exploitation and Abuse is preventable, not inevitable. Now to turn evidence into action. #SVRIForum2026 #ChildProtection #WeProtectGlobalAlliance

Just under a month until the Employment Rights Act changes. Are you ready? From October 30th, employers will carry a new statutory duty to take "all reasonable steps" to prevent sexual harassment at work. For many organisations, that means moving from reactive policies to genuinely proactive culture change, but knowing where to start isn't always easy. That's why, in partnership with McAllister Olivarius, we're hosting Prevention in Practice: Introduction Breakfast - bringing together Senior HR and Inclusion leaders across industries to unpack what the new duty means in practice, and how to prepare your organisation before it takes effect. At EI, our mission is to eradicate sexual violence and harassment with empathy, compassion and understanding, and this also extends to workplaces. Interested in attending? Sign up below! 📍Somerset House, The Strand 📅Weds 11th November ⏰8.00am - 9.00am Register here: https://lnkd.in/duTFmx2r #PreventionInPractice #EmploymentRightsAct #HRLeaders #sexualharassmentprevention #workplaceharassment #employmentrights #sexualharassmenttraining #culturaltraining

A cultural problem needs a cultural solution and we know what works. At Everyone's Invited, we welcome the latest amendments to the Employment Rights Act, which now places a proactive duty on all employers to take "all reasonable steps" to prevent sexual harassment at work, effective October 30th 2026. But what does “all reasonable steps” really mean? Having spent years training 116,000+ people across the UK to recognise the cultural nature of sexual violence, we know that workplace culture is created by every person employed there every single day. That's why we've teamed up with law firm McAllister Olivarius to launch Create Your Culture - a new training offer that helps organisations get ahead of the legislation, prevent sexual harassment from occurring in the first place, and build a workplace where people feel respected, heard, and believed. EI’s mission is to eradicate sexual violence and harassment with empathy, compassion and understanding. Read some of our thoughts on the Employment Rights Act changes here: https://lnkd.in/dXGy8XyF Want to get ahead of the changes with your senior HR and Inclusion leaders?
