In case you missed it, we've joined forces with Force of Nature! Let's catch you up on what that means... 💚 Half a decade ago, two youth-led organisations were born out of the Youth Climate Strikes. Force of Nature, founded by Clover Hogan aged 19, and The Resilience Project, founded by Katie Hodgetts FRSA aged 24. 🌟 Over the last 5 years, we both took different approaches to the same mission; strengthening the youth climate movement to fight for climate justice. While Force of Nature helped young people turn climate anxiety into action, The Resilience Project helped young changemakers stay in the movement, without burning out. 📣 Now, we're bringing all that work together under one roof. Combining everything we've learned to mobilise more young people into action while giving them exactly what they need to unlock resilience, build a community of care and stay in the work. So, whether you're just getting started or you've been organising for years... we're on your side! Read more about our vision and get involved: https://lnkd.in/e7EMQ2mQ

The Resilience Project and Force of Nature have joined forces to deepen support for young people living through the climate crisis. Together, we’re building a bigger, more sustainable movement of young changemakers. One that mobilises even more young people, while offering crucial support to those already deep in the work. Two youth-led organisations born out of the 2019 Youth Climate Strikes, we’ve spent over half a decade doing complementary work. Force of Nature has helped thousands of young people turn climate anxiety into action. Meanwhile, The Resilience Project has been busy resourcing established changemakers with the tools and community they need to avoid burnout and create lasting change. And today, we’re coming together as one. 🌍 WHY NOW? 🌍 The global youth changemaking movement looks very different to when we first started out. From the Gen Z Uprising in Kenya to the Cockroach Janta Party in India, we’ve seen a new generation of young people organise for change on an extraordinary scale. Unlike 2019, climate isn’t always the main talking point. But that isn’t because as young people we no longer care; it’s because we’re holding more interconnected causes, more urgently, than any generation before us. With so many intersectional crises happening simultaneously, more of us than ever before are  burning out under the weight of it all. And many others feel too overwhelmed to even start. That’s why this moment calls for what we’re building; a movement that mobilizes more young people into action, while giving them exactly what they need to unlock resilience, build a community of care, and stay in the work. 🌳 WHAT'S NEXT? 🌳 We’re inviting you to come along on this journey and help shape a movement built to last. As we figure out exactly how our joint programmes will operate, look out for opportunities to get involved and share your perspective. This is just the first chapter in our journey together. We’re excited to have you here with us for what comes next. Subscribe to our newsletter to be the first to hear about exciting new opportunities to get involved: https://lnkd.in/eufg_Mj5

This work is no longer just an idea. It is becoming a movement built by communities, and for communities.🔥🔥 We are deeply honoured to see the Kasese Climate Café Hub featured by Force of Nature as part of its global Climate Café Hub Spotlight. This recognition celebrates more than our work as Hub Lead. It celebrates every host organisation, every young person, every woman, every community leader and every participant who has chosen to sit together, listen to one another and take climate action from the ground up. As the Hub Lead, my self and the team at Maru Action Development Foundation has been privileged to support local organisations to establish Climate Cafés across Kasese in Western Uganda. Today, these spaces are helping communities move beyond discussing climate challenges to identifying practical solutions that fit our very local realities. We are especially proud to see Inspire Girls Focus Foundation, one of our Hub hosts led by Lillian Biira, recognised for creating safe spaces where secondary school students can openly discuss how climate change is shaping their education, wellbeing and future aspirations. Being part of this global initiative, alongside partners in the United Kingdom, the United States and Kenya, reminds us that while climate impacts are experienced differently around the world, community-led dialogue remains a powerful starting point for collective action. We sincerely thank everyone at Force of Nature and The Climate Cares Centre at Imperial College London for believing in locally led leadership and for trusting Kasese to be part of this important global learning journey. This recognition belongs to our four Hub organisations, our facilitators, local leaders, community members and every participant who continues to show that meaningful climate action begins with listening, learning and acting together. Together, we will continue building resilient communities—one Climate Café at a time. #ClimateCafe #ClimateCafeHub #ClimateAction
