  • The quietest cities aren't created by chance.  They're designed that way. Beyond its long-term sustainability commitment, Zaragoza 🇪🇸 is tackling one of Europe's most overlooked environmental challenges: noise pollution.      Instead of reacting to noise issues after they happen, the newly designated 2028 European Green Capital is building quieter neighbourhoods and green buffers right from the start.     Does your city's noise impact your daily wellbeing? 📢

    • The Cathedral-Basilica of Our Lady of the Pillar in Zaragoza rises beside the Ebro River beneath a blue sky, with its domes and towers framed by trees. Zaragoza is written on decorative tiles and ornaments in the centre of the image with '2028 European Green Capital' appearing above it. There is an EU logo in the lower-right corner.
  • Under EU digital law, Booking.com must properly assess and address risks linked to fraudulent listings and phishing scams. It must also clearly label listings that have paid for a higher position in search results. Booking a holiday should be exciting, not risky. Europeans deserve to book with confidence, knowing platforms are taking their safety seriously. We’ll make sure they live up to their responsibilities. 🔗 More: https://lnkd.in/ebRMeNhX

    • Purple-to-magenta gradient graphic with yellow stars and the European Commission emblem. White text reads: “We’re opening an investigation into Booking.com. We will determine whether they are doing enough to protect users from fraudulent listings and phishing scams.” “Booking.com” is highlighted in yellow.

The Arctic is Europe's northern neighbourhood. ❄️ More than 500,000 EU citizens live there, and three EU countries have territory in the Arctic: Denmark, Finland and Sweden. But the region is changing fast, from rising temperatures to growing security challenges. That's why today we're presenting our new Strategy for the Arctic, focused on four priorities:  🛡️ Strengthening security and resilience  🌍Tackling climate change  🌱Supporting sustainable growth and connectivity  🤝 Creating opportunities for local communities, young people and Indigenous Peoples We want to work with our Arctic partners to build a safer, more sustainable and prosperous region.

  • This week, the UN Biodiversity Conference (COP17) opens in Yerevan 🇦🇲. The EU will work with all countries to turn global commitments on nature into action.     Our priorities:  🌍 Speed up delivery of the global nature framework agreed in 2022  💶 Mobilise finance – as the EU is on track to double our international biodiversity funding to €7 billion  🤝 Put local communities centre stage, as well as Indigenous Peoples.     Healthy ecosystems are a foundation of human prosperity. 55% of global GDP is highly dependent on nature. Over half of modern medicines are derived from natural sources.       The EU stands behind our global commitments. We will continue to invest into nature at home and support international efforts.      Here's how: link.europa.eu/kYhGkc

    • A light pink poster featuring a purple-tinted giant tortoise facing forward. Across its shell, black text with a digital glitch effect reads "404 NOT FOUND". Below the tortoise, bold black text reads "Enough promises. Protect biodiversity.". At the bottom centre is the flag of the European Union.
  • The EU Single Market just got a little bit bigger.    Today, Andorra 🇦🇩 and San Marino 🇸🇲 are signing their Association Agreements with the EU. The deal will create new economic opportunities for businesses and citizens, facilitate trade, cross-border activities, and support investment, while respecting the specific characteristics of both partners.  Cooperation will expand across research, education, environment, consumer protection, and culture.    📰 https://lnkd.in/eRzQsiXt

    • Rocca della Guaita, San Marino’s oldest fortress, stands atop a rocky, tree-covered peak above the city, with rolling countryside stretching into the distance.
    • Pedestrian shopping street in Andorra la Vella, lined with storefronts and modern buildings, with people walking and mountains rising in the background.

    • A restored blue-and-white carriage of the former San Marino–Rimini railway crosses a stone viaduct, with trees and a road below.
  • 🌱 Good choices start with trust.    From detergents and textiles to furniture and hotel stays, the EU Ecolabel helps you identify products and services that both do a great job and meet solid environmental criteria.    And there’s good news: according to a recent Eurobarometer survey, more Europeans now recognise and trust the label, and choose greener products thanks to it.  🔸 81% trust that EU Ecolabel products have a lower environmental impact than similar products without the label.  🔸 Close to half of respondents recognise its flower logo.  🔸 46% buy products carrying the label, up from 8 percentage points since 2023.    And, a growing number of businesses are obtaining the label for their products. The choice of EU Ecolabel products on the market has never been bigger!    We’re making the sustainable choice the easy one.    Find out more: https://lnkd.in/eEyrTyPF

    • A white tag displaying the EU Ecolabel logo hangs against a beige, textured background. Above it, blue text reads, “Ever seen this label?” Green handwritten-style arrows point to two options: “yes” and “no”. Below, blue text explains: “You’ve found an environment and health-friendly product!” on the left, and “Keep looking, there are over 120,000 products with the label!” on the right.
  • Women shouldn't have to anticipate violence. Yet, with nearly 1 in 3 women having experienced physical and/or sexual violence, the reality is, they often do.  This month marks three years since the EU joined the Istanbul Convention, a landmark treaty recognising gender-based violence against women as a violation of human rights. It sets out concrete measures to prevent it, to protect victims, and hold perpetrators accountable.  Building on this commitment, we adopted the first-ever Directive on combating violence against women and domestic violence, strengthening action to prosecute rape, tackle certain forms of online violence, and improve protection and support for victims. 🔗 Learn more about the Istanbul Convention: https://lnkd.in/eXSSZzrH

  • Cleaner energy. Better healthcare. Smarter answers to climate change. Every big leap starts with research.     Today, we are launching RAISE.      It invites companies and philanthropic organisations to give researchers across the EU what they need to move faster: AI tools, computing power, data, and training.     It is part of our AI in Science Strategy. The goal is to connect Europe’s brilliant scientists with technology and expertise to turn ideas into real solutions.     Europe doesn’t wait for the future. We build it.      More 👉 link.europa.eu/K6Hkh4

    • A woman in a busy office writing on a glass board. Bold text reads, "EUROPE IS READY TO RAISE", alongside the Choose Europe logo and European Union flag.
  • Hunger isn't just an empty stomach. It’s the line between health and harm.     Last year, 266 million people were pushed to the brink of acute hunger. Emergency food aid is how we make the difference:     🌾 The EU delivers critical food and nutrition support as crises multiply.  🌾 Roughly a third of our total humanitarian aid budget is targeted at fighting hunger.  🌾 Working alongside local partners, we step in where conditions are most severe.     In 2025 alone, that meant putting over €622 million directly into life-saving aid.      The work isn’t finished, and neither are we.

    • A grayscale image shows a pair of hands holding a white bowl filled with colourful upright columns of foods, including peas, broccoli, tomatoes, corn, beans, and grains. Above it, white text reads, 'We don’t just count the hungry. We fight hunger.' A small European Union flag appears in the lower-right corner.
