Our main findings: - The sectors with the highest AI use are media, energy and electronic, while mobility, tourism and agri-food lag behind. - The growth of AI use is mainly driven by LLMs as they have become cheaper and more accessible. - Capital-intensive industries, requiring sophisticated computing infrastructure, have higher AI uptake than labour-intensive sectors, based on people and skills. • 🇪🇺 Strengthening Europe’s response to threats to democracy.   Foreign information manipulation and interference (FIMI) and disinformation can undermine elections, distort public debate and weaken trust in democratic institutions.   As part of the European Democracy Shield, the EU established the European Centre for Democratic Resilience (ECDR) to empower, protect, and promote strong and resilient democracies across the EU.   The Centre provides a framework for EU institutions, Member States and partners to exchange expertise and develop practical tools to counter threats affecting democratic processes.    The ECDR is working on: 💠 Creating more effective and innovative tools to counter FIMI and disinformation 💠 Improving situational awareness and early warning capabilities  💠 Developing common concepts and methodologies for detecting FIMI 💠 Providing practical support for more resilient elections    Learn more about the ECDR: link.europa.eu/wqJbrN

42.3% of EU Internet users encountered hostile or degrading messages online in 2025, according to Eurostat data.   Much of this hostility targeted people based on their political or social views, ethnicity, or sexual orientation.   Hostile online messages can have a serious impact on mental health, contributing to stress, anxiety, and depressive symptoms. On World Mental Health Day, we are highlighting the importance of creating safer online spaces and protecting users' digital well-being.   The EU's Digital Services Act (DSA) helps ensure a safer online environment by: ✅ Requiring large online platforms to identify and reduce risks to users’ physical and mental well-being ✅ Making it easier to report illegal content and hate speech ✅ Protecting minors against online risks, including through safer platform design   Learn more about how the DSA helps protect users online: https://lnkd.in/grTix_Ei Corrigendum: Data not available for Denmark, Croatia, Czechia, Estonia, Italy and Spain.
