Leona Lewis delivers! Musicians are often larger than life on television, but the star of Simon Cowell's X Factor singing competition has even more presence and poise in real life. We had the special opportunity to be one of a select handful of industry professionals - including songwriters, producers and journalists - that were invited to attend Leona's showcase, hosted by music legend Clive Davis, Wednesday at the Beverly Hilton hotel. Lewis' voice is such a pure and powerful instrument, completely filling the ballroom where we congregated to hear the next big thing. It was amazing to see the reactions of these seasoned pros as Leona won them over with each song, as if she was auditioning all over again. The former receptionist and one-time Pizza Hut waitress performed a set of three power ballads - Sorry Seems To Be The Hardest Word, Over The Rainbow and Summertime. As Simon would say, each performance was "world-class." And, Leona is just as lovely as one could imagine and as she comes across on X-Factor. We hope J Record goes in the right direction with her and picks the right songs. It's all about the music. Not the hype! [Thanks to Dana Prigge of So Chic By Dana for Perez's outfit. Tune in to Much on Demand today for a very special show! Not only will Perez be on MOD (live from Hollywood), but the Gossip Gangstar is also going to premiere Mika's video for Grace Kelly. Yay!!!! Sunday, February 4
Perez may be the Queen of all Media, but Gloria Estefan is the Queen of Miami! She is also one of the nicest, most genuine and down-to-earth people you could ever meet. And, Saturday night we had the pleasure of meeting her for the second time. The first was this past summer and we never wrote about it because it was just a really special and private moment. A dream come true. Growing up in Miami, being Cuban and - of course - gay, Gloria Estefan was our childhood idol. And, sometimes meeting your idols can be a disappointment, but not with her. Saturday night, we met up with our dear friend Miz Ingrid Casares and we joined Gloria, Emilio, David Naranjo and Belkys Nerey for dinner at Lario's on the Beach, the Estefan's restaurant. Spending time with "nuestra gente" is always a beautiful thing. Being around other Cubans, we just speak in short-hand. It's this unwritten vocabulary and shared cultural history that can't be described. But sometimes you could see it, like when someone at the dinner table would just get up and spontaneously start to salsa. Each time we've met the Estefans they have both warmed our hearts and have gone out of their way to make us feel "welcome." It's soooo good to be home!!!! After dinner, we headed on over to the massive concert on the beach, where we danced and sweated the night away. A great time was had by all. Hope your weekend was fun as well!

Forget DJ A.M.! The hot new couple is Mandy Moore and Perez Hilton! Early Saturday evening, we met up with MM and her new beau at our hotel, The Townhouse, for a special rooftop Superbowl party for Coach. We took our mom as our special date, and she couldn't help but drool over the dreamy Josh Duhamel as well! Momz was beyond happy when we took her to the Sprint Style Vila earlier on in the day, where she collected a lot of goodies that she can't wait to go and show off to all her friends. We love making mom happy! SWAG, Madonna and music makes the people come together! [Perez's sunglasses courtesy of Coach. Running into someone we like is always more pleasant than being near vile creatures like Rachel Zoe or Star Jones. Thankfully for us, we met someone on Friday night at new Miami hotspot Mokai that we actually like (a lot) and who is very talented, Milo Ventimiglia. And, not only is the Heroes hottie really nice, but he's also a Perezhilton.com reader! And that makes him so much hotter. Milo was kickin' it with a crew of friends and his agents from CAA, who are having a party at the same venue on Saturday night. Friday, though, Jeremy Piven and Kanye West held court, hosting a party for the film Smokin' Aces sponsored by Hennesey and Polaroid. In typical Pivert fashion, Jeremy was smokin' a big fat cigar and chatting with several bimbos. Nick Lachey and Vanessa Minnillo made quite an entrance with their entourage of at least a dozen people. They all made a big scene and held hands like grade-schoolers as their group was escorted to their table. Earlier in the evening, Kevin Federline made an even bigger and more poorly received entrance at the Maxim magazine party at the Sagamore, dubbed "Hotel de Maxim" for the evening. The soon-to-be former Mr. Britney Spears sprinted down the red carpet and refused to talk to any reporters. Being the media whore that he is, Perez chatted with just about everyone. The only person that worked it harder than the Queen of All Media was Brooke Hogan, and we all know that tranny is even more desperate than Perezelle. The Maxim event was an interesting study in social interaction, watching the sports figures interact with the celebrities and the models and a porn star (Stormy Daniels) or two. A solo Tom Brady - Giselle must have been busy - mingled with our fellow Cubanito, baseball superstar Alex Rodriguez. And, thankfully, Brady didn't hide his pretty little face from the photogs on Friday night. Joe Simpson was there and his thoughts - he told us - were with long-time famili friend Lane Garrison. The beleaguered Prison Break star's parents both passed away when he was younger and he was practically raised by the Simpson family. "Lane will do the right thing," said Papa Joe. "He'll do the right thing by the family [of the deceased]." On the bright side, Simpson told us that he and his family were thrilled with daughter Jessica's relationship with rocker John Mayer. The Maxim party featured a musical performance by Fergie, who sang her hits London Bridge and Fergalicious. It was a predominantly boy's crowd, with such random guests as Andy Roddick, Ryan Cabrera, Steve-O, Pauley Shore, Mickey Rourke, Taye Diggs, Chris Isaak, Craig Ferguson, Jeff Gordon, Snoop, Paul Oakenfold, Taye Diggs, John Salley, Spike Lee, Jerry Bruckheimer, Cal Ripkin Jr, Terrel Owens, Matt Leinert, Reggie Bush, Marlon Wayans, Kid Rock, Ludacris and Jamie Foxx. "It's great being a star at a Maxim party...because I'm sleazy," David Spade joked to Perez, when he came over to introduce himself. There's truth in humor, though! The newly single funnyman was definitely enjoying the attention from the ladies. Spade and the Gossip Gangstar spent a good time talking about our mutual love and respect of Denise Richards and laughing our asses off at her coochie lips. Hee hee! It was about time there was a Perez doll. Ryan likes being on the bottom! P.S. There's even some Perez soap. Too cool.
The heat is on!!! Miami was on fire Thursday night, and our party at Mansion was the place to be. We were amazed that the club was packed on a school night. The line went around the block! The music was tight. The crowd - including our pal Damien Fahey (pictured below) - was hot. And, our Perezibowl cheerleaders, dressed in their skimpy outfits, just took it all over the top. We began the evening having dinner with the lovely Vanessa Menkes and Chad Fabrikant at Nobu in the Shore Club. And, because Perez is such a fatso, we insisted on going to Bond Street restaurant afterwards at The Townhouse hotel for dessert and coffee. Stuffed like the fat piggy he is, the Gossip Gangstar waddled like Tyra Banks on over to Casa Casuarina for a Boost Mobile party. Shaquile O'Neal hosted the soiree, which brought out the likes of Ludacris and footballer Matt Leinart, whom when we passed by him we overhead him say to a friend, "Dude, I'm so drunk!" Not drunk but wonderfully intoxicating to us was Andy Roddick (pictured above), who came up to Perez and introduced himself. Swoon. It's great to be home!!!!
