Middle school egg drops taught us about basic physics. Now they’re reminding us of the joys of engineering. Thank you to everyone who came out for the Great American Egg Drop, it was really something. And thanks to Neros Technologies for the drones.

America's New Industrial Base
About us
Amca is building a new industrial base for America that is faster, distributed, and multi-sourced. We increase competition and capacity for every class of critical component to build and sustain the planes, military vehicles, and core infrastructure America needs. For decades, America’s legacy industrial base for critical components has become increasingly uncompetitive and capacity-constrained. As a result, the gap between what America needs and what it can produce is the largest it has been in generations. To address today’s bottlenecks, Amca is pioneering a faster and more resilient way to develop and manufacture critical aerospace and defense components. Traditional manufacturers often silo design, testing, and production into separate workflows, resulting in years-long timelines and high program risk. Amca brings those functions together into a single, integrated system that pairs rapid design and qualification of components with certified production at scale. By combining rapid prototyping, software-enabled testing, extensive qualification infrastructure, and a growing network of AS9100D-certified factories, Amca can move critical components from requirement to production within weeks. The end result is faster delivery, greater access to technical data, and reduced dependence on a single source of supply. Today, Amca supplies products for major aerospace and defense platforms, including the F-35, F-16, F/A-18, Mk-48, 737MAX, 787, 777, A320, and M1 Abrams. We also support U.S. military sustainment programs focused on readiness-related shortages and diminishing manufacturing sources. We have raised $376M in funding and are backed by leading investors including Caffeinated Capital, Lightspeed Venture Partners, Andreessen Horowitz, Lux Capital and Founders Fund.

Amca has been awarded a contract by the US Army, establishing an enterprise-wide partnership with U.S. Army Materiel Command for rapid engineering, qualification, and component production. This is the first partnership of its kind, designed to increase readiness for a priority missile system by re-engineering and improving manufacturability of critical components and subsystems. We're grateful for the Army’s trust, urgency, and leadership, and look forward to re-engineering American industry together. https://lnkd.in/g7fREqiA

Amca presents The Great American Egg Drop in collaboration with Neros Technologies. We are calling on LA’s finest to participate in an engineering competition in which teams will build a contraption that drops and glides an egg from Archer, a Neros drone. The team whose egg travels the longest distance horizontally without breaking will be crowned the winner. The competition will begin promptly at 6pm on Thursday, Oct 15 in El Segundo during LA Tech Week. More details and RSVP link here: https://lnkd.in/gU3DENYv

America’s critical supply chain won’t be fixed by a single player. It’s a collective effort that will require co-investment and collaboration between the public and private sectors. Our CEO, Jai Malik, joined Jeffrey Frankston (Acting Deputy Assistant Secretary of War, Industrial Base Resilience), Andy Magliochetti (Deputy Assistant for the Defense Industrial Base, US Department of the Navy), Rolf Zeising (General Atomics), and Bryan Clark (Senior Fellow and Director, Hudson Institute) yesterday afternoon at the Hudson Institute, to discuss how we can come together to form a stronger, more resilient defense industrial base. It was a pleasure to welcome Rep. Ted Lieu to our El Segundo HQ last week and show him how we're leveraging technology to rebuild America's engineering capability and expertise. He got a first-hand look at how we rapidly design and qualify critical parts to increase national readiness and production speed across major platforms.

This week, we were designated Awardable on the Tradewinds Solutions Marketplace by the DoW Chief Digital and Artificial Intelligence Office (CDAO). What this means: interested government customers can watch our short video, ask for a demonstration, and seek an award without getting bogged down in red tape. This creates a streamlined path for the warfighter to access Amca’s engineering, qualification, and production capabilities and get critical parts faster. Grateful to the Tradewinds team for making this possible - we appreciate the opportunity and are looking forward to getting to work!

Thousands of critical components need to be re-engineered to solve America's critical supply constraints and increase the nation's readiness. We opened a dedicated factory in March to do this and deliver faster than anyone else across hydraulics, pneumatics, power electronics, avionics, and more. When a customer needed a new pressure switch re-designed on an urgent timeline, our engineer Kurt Freeman took on the challenge. He developed, built and tested it in under a month.

America's aerospace and defense supply chain is facing major electrical component shortages. To do our part, Amca is hiring EEs across all disciplines to design sensors, solenoids, transformers, power converters, and more for aircraft currently in service, as well as the next generation of platforms. Our engineers have extreme ownership over their products by design, and work closely with a dedicated prototyping team that allows us to iterate in weeks what takes everyone else months or years. If this sounds fun to you, join us.
